Family group (seven people) arrived unannounced for dinner on a (Covid) Sunday night. We were the only ones there and I was a little worried about the food we might receive. After ordering five different Thai and two western mains we were given home made papadams to snack whilst waiting. They were a nice touch. All the main courses were excellent. The Thai food was deliciously fresh and well presented. My Thai family commented how good it was throughout the meal. Our western meals could not be faulted. The fish and chicken mains were both well cooked, well portioned and came with fries, salad and two sauces. Reiner introduced himself to us and he and his wife were great hosts throughout the night. It was like being at their home as friends rather than unknown customers. Their restaurant overlooks a "catch and release" lake surrounded by homestay bungalows. Just a pleasant spot to pass the time and feed the monsters swimming below. Dessert was home made pine sugar pie shared amongst us all and was a welcome end to a sumptuous meal. This night rates as probably one of the best evenings and meals that I have had after 12 years in Thailand. I will definitely be back and wish this lovely couple all the best in these difficult times. Thank you for a great night. PS. I failed to mention how inexpensive the meals were. Given the quality, presentation and the service. I would expect to pay a lot more if I...
Read moreI don't know where to begin. This is a hidden gem for northern Thai food. If you are lucky and stumble upon it, you are in for an amazing time. We loved all the carefully curated details. They have many Instagrammable spots within the area. If you get a chance to see the big fishes don't miss out. They are so huge and you find plenty in the lake. We ordered the Aad Moo , minced pork wrapped in banana leaf. It was amazing. Went well with the steam rice. We ordered the home made Chiang Mai pork sausage, Sai-ua moo , it was amazing, it's pork marinated in the local Thailand spices !!! We ordered the green curry with chicken and it was also good. At the end we ordered the Thai dessert which they had and it was amazing as well. Overall an amazing experience and would go back when we come to...

Remarkable Lanna food!!!!!
I hope people should stop following Michelin Guide hype. This restaurant is the real hidden gem. It serves much better northern Thai cuisine than any Michelin Guide restaurants with high price and hypocrisy. Not to mention the level of details the owner has put into each dishes. I ve been here many times and it had been still remarkable
And the view and relaxing atmosphere

It was like trying the local northern food cooked by local. It was grandma Thong 's own recipes. At first I was hesitated to come, but it turned out I really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, the hospitality. It was like being educated with some dishes I never knew in the...
