I know I shouldn't do this. But, the operator of La Petita certainly deserves it. The food, atmosphere, and soul of the place is why I want to keep this place a secret. (I fear that someday the word will get out and people will be lining up and the quaint, gastronomically brilliant slice of Chiang Mai heaven, may not be the same. Or, maybe not. I may just be a synic.) But, that would be selfish of me. Anyway, the paella is the best I've had. I was with 4 other (foodies) and they agreed with that assessment. We had two different paella dishes (each pan serves 2-3 people) with the black paella (from Spanish squid ink) was TO DIE FOR. The seafood is extremely fresh and carefully selected. This small paella joint, slow cooks rice with love on practically vintage pans! It was lovely to meet the owner and chat about how his paella cottage came to be We were surprised to find authentic and delicious paella in the mountains outside chiang mai & would return again.

Hidden in small wooden house in Mae Rim, La Petita is one of a must homie spanish food in Chiang Mai.
Not so many menu in the house. Main course is only paellas and fideva with choice of meat and vegetables for selection.
Paellas and fideva takes 25 mins cooking but definitely worth the wait!! Amazing taste for both black squid ink sauce paellas and for fideva we order sea and mountain which is seafood, veggies and chicken. chicken is surprisingly delicious. 10/10
