We went there for lunch yesterday. The first thing that came to my mind after entering the small restaurant was "home". Funny, because I'm not Italian, but when I lived in Germany I loved eating in Italian restaurants. It was probably the smell of baked pizza dough. As I said, the restaurant is small, only 5 tables with four seats each. Everything was so clean and tidy, it looked like they had just opened but the restaurant has been around for more than 5 years. Even the toilet was perfectly clean. Let's get to the most important point: the food. We decided to try the pizzas first and we weren't disappointed. The dough was perfect: not too thin or too thick, not dripping with too much oil or too dry. You could easily eat the pieces out of your hand, even the outside rim was tasty. If you've lived in Thailand too long, you're used to everything being heavily seasoned, and the rampant use of glutamate only makes it worse. Here one is reminded that Italian cuisine likes to use light flavors and it is more about the natural taste of the ingredients. Afterwards I drank good espresso and tokk a portion of tiramisu to eat at home later. We were too full for dessert on the spot. Together with coke and soda the total price was around 550 baht (2 people). Next time we want to try the...
Read moreI worked my way through university waiting tables at a high end Italian restaurant and have always been addicted to good pizza. Been here seven years and have tried dozens of different restaurants and while I’ve found some good, some decent and many disappointing pizzas I haven’t found my style of pizza until today. Mamma Mia Pizza and Pasta in Sansai
The chef learned her skill from her Italian grandfather and cooks with love. Their salad is also excellent. Love how they start your dining experience with a fresh basket of bread. Definitely save room for tiramisu!
Highly...
Read moreI have found many fusion Italian restaurants in town, but this little and far-from-show-off restaurant represents classical and unchanged Italian cuisine and style. I wasn’t expecting a five-star taste at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. They use sourdough for their pizza, and mascarpone for their super delicious tiramisu.
We were lucky to meet the owner and chef, Miss Mei. She cooks her food with such great enthusiasm and passion that one can easily find this reflected in the taste of her cooking.
