"AVOID ANY GRAB DELIVERY! YOU WONT BE HAPPY!" From a once happy patron: Had Pizza here in the restaurant tonight. Restaurant is very spacious not crowded tables like Ping. Pizza was really good. Crust was fresh , crispy but with a good chew. Good sauce to cheese ratio and the toppings were spot on tonight. The Hawaiian Ham/Pineapple was particularly good with excellent sweetness on the pineapple. Trying the Ding Dong Dessert later when I have some belly room. The restaurant bstaff could be a bit more sociable. But I think they are just being Thai.
This is from my first experience: This was a Panda delivery order. 2 pizzas. Pepperoni tasted a little bit rancid.(sour) Sausage mushroom was OK but mushrooms were pretty mushy. That's usually a sign they are old. Pizzas were still hot on arrival. They just need to check there toppings for freshness. I know they can do better. I've been at ping river many times. It's always good. Grab/Dukes sent a two Large pizza order with nothing but a bungee cord smashing the pizza on the back of a Scoopy. Pizza was cold and damaged. Significant improvement is needed training staff in handling valid customer complaints. Scrutiny of how food is delivered needs to occur to protect product. To date I have sent. Messages to the company on this and other platforms. As yet I have received no reply from Duke's, but did receive a response from Grab Food placing the blame solely on Duke's. What a wonderful business partner to have. I have not been retaliated on by management as of yet, but it is their pattern to blame customers for any problem they may have experienced. How unfortunate. They will continue to do business as the choose of course. They will do so however without the benefit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDukeās has been our typical place to go for a family treat. We loved the Promenada location which is no more. However, The Galleria location is much closer to us so thats even better! Wellā¦not quite.
I know this is a newer location and perhaps with newer staff and so I will give them grace at this time as they figure things out. Our experience last night was the worst Iāve had at a Dukeās ever. Now it wasnāt epic awful but it was bad just because Dukeās has served so well every other time.
Hereās what happened⦠Our last dish came 45 minutes after it was ordered. Most dishes came at different times and so there goes family dinner together. The easiest thing to make, an order of onion rings, was second to last to come at 40 minutes later.
The staff was not attentive. I know they were busy but check on us every once in awhile? Please? I had to chase them down for ketchup and later to check on our orders at 40 minutes into waiting. Thankfully our youngest got his order first at about 15 minutes after ordering.
The food quality and taste overall was good. So if you donāt mind the unpredictable wait time, itās a good experience.
We paid and leftā¦no apologies or recognition that they do not serve our family well.
I still like Dukeās but I certainly have to second guess myself before going again.
Looking forward to a better experience next time.
UPDATED: Jan 30 I appreciate the response by the owner. At least I know they are aware and they care.
We could not wait for the manager or thought about that as frustration level was high on my part and we needed to get home.
Thank you for sharing our experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEvery so often after years of being in Chiang Mai, somehow I forget my previous experiences going to the dikes and my spouse and I say āwhat the heck letās try.ā
What follows is an exercise in how to make what ought to be good food pretty bad.
Donāt dry the lettuce in the salad. That way it can be soggy and unappetizing.
For burgers use the worst possible beef if itās even actually beef. It doesnāt exactly taste like beef. Then over-handle it so it gets a rubbery hockey-puck texture.
For salad dressings donāt make any in houseājust get the largest, most artificially flavored bucket of ādressing flavored productā you can find.
How can you ruin a baked potato? Just partially cook it and leave in the fridge a week or so, then warm it through only enough to melt the very cheapest low grade margarine you can slather onto it along with artificially flavored sour cream product. That way it will be a combination of raw and slightly warm, with a really disgusting chemical taste and tough texture.
For the burger bun just let it get pretty stale and make sure itās as dry as the desert with tumbleweeds rolling through.
I really tried to give the dukes a chance and I give it one extra star because the people and place were actually pleasant.
The food though is terrible.
There are a lot of people who may never have experienced properly prepared wholesome food who might believe this place is any good. I will leave...
