Been here many times but today is the last time. Our family of three were the first table guests of the day. After ordering coffee and chips, we went to play on the swing. Soon I saw the waiter trying to join many small tables together to make a big table, but obviously they were not satisfied with the big one. The table is not satisfied. One of the waiters went to the swing to call me back and wanted us to change tables because they wanted to use ours to rejoin a large table, I refused and asked "why should we change?". They didn't answer and I continued to play. After ten minutes, my husband saw that the waiter moved my table without our consent, so we were very angry and went over to ask "Why didn't we get permission to move our table? Move our things at will?" The waiter replied Just move it a little bit. But the problem is, no one can move without the owner's permission, right? I asked "Because you have a lot of guests coming, so we have to change the table? We are also customers, and we also pay for ordering, is this your service? I will never come here again! We refused, but you keep moving, it sucks! Why don't you let the farang next to you change the table? We'll go! You move! Just move, you suck!" The waiter didn't apologize or explain. I think it's a matter of...
Read moreA lovely cafe to come to for lunch away from the city. Not too difficult to get to, the road is good. Once inside the cafe is bright, clean and modern, with several different areas of seating inside and outside. There is a limited lunch menu, but its enough to choose from. The cakes look good and not a bad price although we didn't try them today. Food was OK, but I don't think you come here for a gourmet experience. You come for the relaxing atmosphere and gardens. Even though it was the weekend, we had a riverside gazebo to ourselves, and it felt quite romantic and very peaceful. The gardens are nice for taking photos and going for a short walk to see birds, lots of butterflies and even a snake. Food: Khao Soi was too spicy, and the egg noodles in the teriyaki chicken were greasy and weird tasting, but the portions were OK and the prices not bad considering the setting. About 100B each meal. Coffee though was rather expensive and not that fantastic. But overall we enjoyed the experience and would come here again to enjoy the beautiful setting and...
Read moreThis is a review for the coffee shop not the resort. Super beautiful setting and very nice now without the giant buses full of tourists.
Suggestions to make it a “must visit” destination.
The coffee really isn’t great. Just down the road you have Toong’s and Din Cafe. Both shops have some of the best coffee in Chiang Mai. With such a beautiful setting at Valley Coffee, why not take the effort to make excellent coffee?
Similarly the food is very subpar. Maybe license the coffee and restaurant to someone with real experience?
The seating area next to the river is super peaceful. But something needs to be done to eradicate the ants. And as a general rule, I would consider not allowing guests to open iPads and blast music / movies. Kind of ruins the setting.
Overall a super beautiful place, but just a few changes could make it somewhere I would visit many...
