Vikings Jungle — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

This place is the oddest burger joint you can imagine. No signage that I could see from the main road or even entrance. I had to follow my nose to the scent of unmistakeable burgers to an open circular courtyard. It's basically a shack of corrugated metal built around trees, and there I was ordering up with the owner who was kind and helpful. I ordered the double burger, really juicy, messy, tasty, and an extra order of fries. Everything was made to order including the fries which looked to be hand cut. I liked the jungle atmosphere, the chillhop music, the strangeness of it all. Felt like someplace you'd eat inside a dream. Good prices. Not sure if the owners were Thai or not (Burmese?), as their accents didn't seem like it, but the lady spoke good English and was gracious thanking me before I left. Will...

Believe the Hype...I live nearby and always drive past the little sign going to the local market unknowing this was a burger joint, the home actually, of the fellow that will chat you up in English and cook your giant burger. I went with the original cheese burger with fries and that filled me up plenty. The pic is of a burger the guy after me got and he had to eat it with a knife and fork. Hard to find good beef in CM and this just reminded me of home when you just crave a burger, it's a bit out of the tourist area but if you have a motobike go check it out right off canal rd in a resort housing development it will be on your immediate right as you enter on a dirt road, keep an eye out...

Decided to try this place based on previous reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. Our burgers were great! I got the 150 gram Viking Burger and my husband got the 300 gram burger. Burgers were cooked medium and served with cheese on a homemade bun. With fries The bill including a bottle of water was only 340 Baht for both of us. The restaurant might be hard to find. We used gps. There was plenty of signage. The dining is outdoors under beautiful trees. Very quiet...
