Nestled high in the hills of Chiang Rai, this mountaintop restaurant offers a breathtaking escape. I was lucky to arrive just as the mist began to roll in — soft, white veils drifting through the trees, wrapping the air in a cool, clean freshness. It was slightly damp, just enough to bring a gentle chill that felt invigorating rather than uncomfortable.

The coffee here is a quiet delight — aromatic and well-balanced, with a subtle hint of smokiness that lingers in the background without overpowering the brew. The green tea, too, holds its own — smooth and mellow, definitely worth a try.

Visiting during the rainy season might require some caution — the road can be slippery and the journey a bit challenging. Still, if you’re up for the adventure, the reward is well worth it. As for summer, I can’t say for certain how hot or accessible it gets, but what I can promise is this: the view is...

This is my first time back to this area since before covid and it's crazy to see how much has changed. Prior there was only a small handful of cafés and homestays and now you can't go a few minutes without seeing a boutique shop, glamping, or a resort.

MiYo Cafe and Bar is owned by P Miyo, a wonderful and talented lady that prior to covid had a smaller shop further up the mountain that is now closed. She took the last couple of years to find and build this new dream and it is absolutely perfect. It's humble, calm, and unpretentious. The coffee is always good; P Miyo and her team have been together and at this for quite some time with decades of experience amongst them, true professionals.

Pass the hit & miss, inexperienced Instagram cafés and shops that have popped up along the mountain and instead head here for an authentic and warm experience, with some damn good...

Great view and nice staff! but sadly the coffees weren’t good. The cappuccino was Luke warm and filled with so much milk we could hardly taste the coffee. I ordered the macadamia dirty coffee which is a popular drink in Thailand that u get often, and what came was coffee on the bottom and a blended chunky bitter macadamia milk on top and the drink wasn’t sweetened so I’m not sure what happened there. Maybe it was just a off day but hopefully that can be...
