Star Doi Coffee — Restaurant in Chiang Saen district

Great home stay and cafe that MUST be your destination to chill and relax.

Lucky for our family to be first customer to stay at new Camping tent dome (5 of them) so I will share experience while stay here.

How to get here: drive following google map by home stay name is very accurate 1:30 hour from airport. You can visit Chouifong tea farm, Doi Tung , and Tham Laung Cave along the way to the home stay.

Home stay: there is a good building and fine facilities over the top of the hill (Doi Sa Ngo) There are 5 new camping tents to see star at night and sunrise in the morning. There is a restaurant here too so don’t worry about food.

There are air conditioning, toilet, showering, power line. Let say this is luxury tent.

You can see sun set from Thailand’s border and see sun rise from Golden triangle territory. At night you must lay down to watch over the sky to count the star....

View is fantastic, can see for miles. The establishment is very nice, well set out and spacious. It has one covered area and a large open area will canopies and a few guest rooms below. However, the coffee was at best mediocre. In an area where I have tasted some of the best coffee in my life it falls painfully short of being up there with the best. Ordered a short black coffee but as the taste was nondescript I ask for some milk. The waitress replied, "we don't have milk". So I walked to the counter and asked for milk, which they had and some sugar to liven the beverage up, which it didn't. They need to sort the coffee out. Plain and simple. Location: Tucked away near Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai (secluded but with friendly locals to help with directions) Tranquil escape with stunning, New Zealand-like scenery. And also have a relaxing outdoor setting with fairy lights, its perfect for socializing or solo meals.

There is a friendly sheep! (A delight for children and animal lovers) and need to paid for entry. Beside that, Glamping tents and hotel accommodations for a nature immersion experience. Scenic road leading to the cafe, ideal for capturing beautiful photos.
