I don’t know what my wife ordered, but one sip and I fell in love with this place. I think it was cold latte with a dash of caramel. There was this very distinct hint of smoky molasses that was unique to only freshly made caramel. That set off my inquisitiveness to strike up a conversation with the friendly staffs. They make their own caramel instead offering the standard run-of-the-mill Makro ones. The guy behind the counter was so enthusiastic in proudly explaining how they are meticulous to ensure only the best is served. In fact, everything here from bread to cake and cream are delicately home-made to perfection. My child was excited about the bread made to look like a house, complete with doors and windows burned in as patterns. We adored the bright chiffon pinky yellow cake which exploded with sweet love every mouthful. Every one of those radiantly colored cakes called out our names behind the glass. They blended like sweet edible decorations with the pink theme of the charming café. Even the floor tiles are in candy pink. There is an upstairs, but it was closed off to us. So, I do not know what’s up there gotta offer. On the exterior, the café is like an English tavern shrouded by the lush of generous greens which shaded the brick flooring. There are seating outdoor, behind and beside. This café is easy to get to as it is just alongside Ratchaphurke Road towards the northern direction. So, if you happen to be along this way, it is worth a stop to relax in its charms, fill your sweet cravings and a...
Read moreStaffs are polite but the service i experienced several times could be better.
1st time: I ordered Affogato cocoa, the menu show a photo of it decorated with chocolate chips so it looked like bear, when it was served, there was no decoration at all. I asked a staff and she said that we don’t decorate it any more. - The cafe is supposed to tell this to customers before they order tho.
(Around) 8th time: I went to the cafe around 17:30, ordered Affogato without expresso, but requested for a cup of hot water in stead of expresso. Staff served Affogato in take-away packages and a dine-in cup of hot water. They thought i want to take away (don’t know why, i even sat on a chair waiting for my beverage). But normally if customers says nothing it simply meant they dine-in, and if staffs thought i wanted to take-away, why gave me a hot water in a dine-in cup. This’s quite frustrating.
The most disappointing thing is that the cafe keeps changing their Affogato recipe 😢
Normally, when people order without saying ‘take away’, it implies that...
Read moreThe overprice hideout. Not a fantastic place for coffee, but could do for those sweet lovers. Also bare in mind that it comes with a high price tag.
Sparking Espresso (THB 145): The nice looks doesnt go with the taste. It doesnt taste like coffee at all. Difficult to describe and hard for you to believe, but the end taste felt like the end taste of a grilled piri piri chicken. The coffee taste like savoury food. Not recommended, but up to you if you want to try something different than coffee taste.
Americano: ok, served still hot. You can feel the slight berry note at the end.
Mille Feuille Noisette (Puff pastry with hazelnut parline): Simply taste like Ferrero Rocher that is deconstructed into a cake form and it is expensive THB 265 per piece.
House Loaf (dont know whats it called, but starts with a G i think.) - its like the bread of the honey toast that is rich in butter eaten with Rasberry jam. Similar to a scone, but just with toast instead.
Will I come back: Nope.
Overall was expensive, 2 coffees and 2 desserts...
