Harudot Chonburi by Nana Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Chon Buri Province

Absolutely incredible cafe in Chonburi that deserves a visit if you’re coming to Thailand as a tourist or are a local/resident! Chonburi is around an hour or 1.5 hours away from Bangkok by road and this picturesque and totally surreal cafe is a great place to stop if you’re traveling across Thailand by road or want to do a day trip from Bangkok to nearby places for unforgettable experiences! The exterior of the cafe is completely incredible and perfect for those aesthetic pictures and they also have a garden opening next month which I got to see and it is surely a place I imagine will be super crowded very soon because it is equally aesthetic! The inside of the cafe is so spacious, airy and well lit and every corner of the cafe just has a nice and relaxing ambiance which is also upbeat! Their coffee is wonderful and the variety of food and desserts that I tried at the cafe was all super delicious, beautifully presented and well worth the reasonable prices! The staff is so kind and accommodating and I’d like to give a special mention to Khun Jane who made sure to make our experience there a pleasant and enjoyable one! Very kind and helpful and she also knows English! From the food that I tried, I really enjoyed the Beef burger which was juicy and cooked to perfection, the smoked salmon egg benedict that was pleasing to the eye and delicious as well and also just as good as the Baguette Smoked Salmon. The different Panna Cottas were unique and interesting to try as well. I tried several of their drinks as well and they tasted just as good as they looked! This is a great place to come with friends/family if you’re looking for those instagram-worthy pictures in a cool environment. The desserts were works of art and some of their top ones were the Lychee Cake, Yuzu Tart, Dark Beer Cake and Coconut Snow Ball. @harudot.chonburi was another high point (brought down only by the huge number of visitors - myself included of course). The architecture is splendid and I imagine relaxing under the right circumstances.

The coffee selection is superb and the use of the @modbar under-counter espresso machines leads to an incredible cup of coffee. I mean wow!

I wanted it to be bad so I could call the place all show and no substance but glad to be wrong. I opted for a #piccolo which for me is the best test. One of the best I’ve ever enjoyed! It’s something of a shame that the popularity of the spot makes it feel like being in a Starbucks and with similar service levels… but this is a Starbucks that makes insanely good coffee, hasn’t burnt the shit out of the beans and clearly trains it’s staff to use the equipment well.

If I was being picky, which I am prone to be, the yuzu-matcha sour wasn’t close to being as well-made as @yotsuba.tea which gets a lot less traffic and truly knows how to treat matcha. I’d give this a higher rating if they focused more on their coffee program and less on the foo-foo mixed drinks.

If I was to return, I’d choose an early morning soon after opening or maybe late afternoon and hope for a quieter experience. #architecture #espresso #matcha...
