I never thought I’ve have to come to Thailand to find the best Italian cuisine of my life, but that’s exactly what happened.
From the moment we stepped out of our Grab, we were warmly greeted at the door, setting the tone for what would be an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant’s modern, upscale decor immediately caught my eye, hinting at the culinary delight to come.
The wine menu is a gem, expertly curated with some incredible finds. It's clear that the owners prioritize quality over profit, which is always a welcome sight. We started with a heady red and a crisp white, both excellent choices. I also indulged in an iced Irish coffee, perfect for the late hour.
For appetizers, we ordered the bresaola, which was light and beautifully balanced with arugula and a balsamic reduction. The pasta we had—whose name escapes me—was simply amazing. We also tried the Wagyu steak, which was prepared to perfection.
As the evening progressed, we couldn’t resist trying dessert. The brownie with ice cream was a highlight, the rich, dense chocolate paired perfectly with the salted crust that encased the ice cream. It was a sublime way to end the meal.
Throughout the night, I was impressed not only by the food but also by the impeccable service. Chef Albert personally visited our table, sharing stories of his training around the world and his experiences living in Thailand. His passion for his craft was evident, and it was a pleasure to meet him.
When the bill arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with two complimentary aperitifs of house-made Limoncello. Despite the feast we enjoyed, the total cost was less than what I’d pay for a single steak back in the US.
Thailand, you’ve won my heart. I will definitely be back, and when I return, Pepper and Salt will be at the top of my list. It’s rare for me to give a restaurant five stars across the board, but this was the best meal I’ve had in decades—even rivaling some of the top steakhouses in the US.
Thank you, Chef Albert....

I recently visited the Pepper & Salt Restaurant with my family; this was our first time there, so I booked a table in advance through their Facebook page as I was told Fridays are exceptionally busy.
The staff at the restaurant were both welcoming and friendly and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The menu offered a comprehensive combination of Thai and European cuisine, catering to various tastes. The extensive selection of drinks, including German bottled beer and prosecco by the glass, was a pleasant surprise.
We ordered Chicken Spring Rolls and Salmon Tartare as starters. For the main course, we opted for the Pork Chop and the Beef Teriyaki (made with Australian Wagyu). Our children chose from the variety of Thai dishes available, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
The food served was of good quality, surpassing our expectations. Additionally, the pricing was competitive, offering great value for the dining experience we received. The total bill was 3000 THB ($86) (£66).
Only one minor complaint would be that the tables in the aircon room are very close together, offering no privacy; our table was about 25 cm from the next, meaning all conversations could be heard easily. Maybe the management team could look at reorganising the tables a bit more spaciously.
The table issue aside, I still highly recommend Pepper & Salt and look forward...

Today, I had the pleasure of dining at Pepper & Salt in Pattaya, and it was truly a delightful experience. I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, and I must say, it was absolutely delicious – the flavors were perfectly balanced, making it one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
The restaurant offers both an outdoor terrace and an indoor dining area, catering to different preferences. The staff is exceptionally well-trained, demonstrating a level of service that reflects the high standards of the owner, who I learned is Swiss. Their attention to detail and adherence to proper etiquette are commendable, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable.
Located on the Dark Side of Pattaya, just off Soi Khao Talo to the right, Pepper & Salt is certainly worth the journey from the city center. For those living in the area, it offers a convenient and far more appealing alternative to traveling into the city, with the added bonus of avoiding the usual traffic and congestion.
In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Pepper & Salt and will definitely be returning. It’s a restaurant that stands out in every aspect, and I encourage anyone nearby to...
