Suggestions — Restaurant in Chon Buri Province

I have eaten here a few times before and felt it value for money, even prepared to overlook the strikingly odd and garish interior furnishings, but today the Sunday lunch was abysmal. Since my last visit I suspect they have either stopped caring, or the job is more than they can handle. What I presume was the head waitress exuded an aura of being unhappy and uncaring from the moment I arrived. She even insisted a couple arriving after me sit at a table other than the one they preferred, and there were plenty spare! The soup was tomato cream - totally tasteless. I can adjust a badly seasoned soup, but to be presented with a bowl of tomato soup that didn’t even taste of tomato was a first for me. I sent it back and noticed the table next to me was putting meat from their salad into their tomato soup, perhaps to make it taste of something? I ordered the roast pork which arrived with an impressive variety of vegetables. Unfortunately all reheated from frozen and overdone. The Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese (not from frozen) was acceptable, but the pork itself was dry, over cooked yet the crackling was a leathery soft slick of skin on a piece of 4Cm thick fat. Now....roast pork and you cannot get crackling right? My companion had ordered the lamb, medium. It was very overdone, beyond well done. The rest of the plate mirrored mine. The gravy was a packet or ready mix and exactly the same for both meats! I would be embarrassed to cook for myself in such a manner, let alone present it as an effort worth...

Well we arrived at 1900 for Christmas Dinner. Place was full and we ordered our choices. That's when the start of a bad night. The appetizers were ok average I would say. We waited and waited and waited at 2040 yes we finally got out meals. I had roast turkey and my friend had roast duck. Both were slathered with a red wine sauce that clearly was bottom of the pan. Both his portions and mine looked like scraps left over as they had run out of food! This was my first visit (family has Christmas Dinner last year). This was not a cheap option at 1250 baht per head. Enough said. We should have sent them back or demanded a refund but we did not want to make a scene. They never should have served this but...

Been here many times including tonight. Owner and staff very polite and respectful. Food choice excellant. When food delivered it was excellant too. No reheated food as far as I was aware. Just qualify.

Only downside is the outside curb installed by the idiots at the local authority. Nothing to do with the restaurant. With a full load the bottom of my car scraped on the concrete curb. The council are total idiots. If you come go down road next to restaurant and use the track to enter the car park. Owner plans to make proper road ( no doubt at his expense) in September when the restaurant is closed.
