Khrua Anong — Restaurant in Kanchanaburi Province

Location: Note very far from downtown and also not far from M81 motorway exit. The place is quite close to intersection so be careful when you drive there. They have about a hundred or more parking space. The parking was full when we arrived but finding one at 1 PM wasn't hard. No shaded nor indoor parking here. Atmosphere: the place looks clean. Decoration on the outside is not spectacular but won't diminish our appetite. We took an outdoor table though. Indoor tables bought be better decorated. Their restrooms were large but we didn't use them so we can't comment on cleanliness. Service: they quickly find a table for us even though the place was quite packed. They gave us occupied table though so we had to request a new one by a pond. There were no fans outside but it was cool enough outside. Food: two of us ordered four dishes, excluding rice. Fried frog with garlic (฿220) was good if you are eating with rice, otherwise it was a little bit salty. Stir-fried Mixed vegetable (฿120) was our surprised winner as it has perfect mix of salty and sweet. Tofu soup with minced pork (฿150) was also very good. Catfish Chu Chee (฿200) was really tasty but might be too spicy for foreigners. So order it only when you can eat it with a dish of rice (฿20). Price and Payment: their price was reasonable. They accept cash andqr payment. Credit card will incur additional 3% though. Final thought: if you are going to kanchanaburi, this restaurant worth a little detour. Though it might not be attractive enough to drive all the way from Bangkok, it won't...
