I would boldly say that this cafe is very popular. It is frequented by lots of visitors due to its location where we could get striking and panoramic view of the famous temple, Wat Tham Suea. This place is divided into 2 parts, a cafe and a small restaurant. I went during the weekend and the place is unbelievably crowded. I saw cars parked along the roadside running almost a kilometer(I really felt like that). Firstly I decided to order coffee but sooner I gave up because there was hardly a space to stand at the cafe counter. Then I went to order noodles where I waited around 30 minutes to get my small bowl of noodles. Yes! it was delicious but I lost my appetite due to sweatings in my body from long waiting time in the hot atmosphere. Maybe weekends are not the best time to go as most Thais travel during weekends. It would be great if they improve the service delivery by adding more staffs during weekends or peak seasons. Anyway, I guarantee that this is good to visit but need some patience if you want to have coffee or food. Have a GREAT DAY! Time of...
Read moreMany cafes lining up on the same street as the view at the back with the temple is so beautiful. I believe you get the same (or similar ) view from any of the cafes there but I was impressed by the setting of the Meena cafe! Rather than one large dining space, they scattered the seating at many areas of the cafe. Each one is different (with some air conditioned), sofa, beanbags, lounge, upstairs, in a gazebo, etc etc… all were so cute!! Food was a tad expensive but the presentation is nice with banana leaves and flowers. The taste was also nice with small but good portion. We got there around 11:30 on the first day of the long weekend and it was already pretty busy, so I would recommend to get there early to secure nice seating spots. Albeit being quite busy, the service was nice and fast. Really beautiful scenery with lots of photo spots. There are many very small kittens when we were there (June 2022).. they were...
Read moreLocated a bit far from city centre but it's absolutely worth coming and you may plan a short afternoon trip with Wat Tham Suea like us.
We have been to Meena Cafe six years ago and we wish to pay a visit again. The environment seems the same, although there's a few of restaurants or cafe open in the neighborhood, this place is still the best on Kanchanaburi in my heart.
Foodwise we only had a Hawaiian baby pizza, it's same crispy and tasty, i wonder if the dough is made is something like Roti so to be so thin & crispy.
Butterfly Pea lemon & Green Tea honey lemon are so refreshing and looks great, good for photo shooting.
In short, vibes, music, service, food & drinks are good. You can really chill & enjoy an afternoon with a panoramic view to Wat Tham Suea.
There's a minimum charge of one drink per person, I totally agreed with this, remember last time were too many people just came in to take...
