Ninja Cafe : Sushi & Noodles — Restaurant in Kanchanaburi Province

Possibly the worst meal I've had in a restaurant in my life. After days of eating local food for 50-80 baht and always having a good fresh meal if not always particularly tasty I decided I'd go to a restaurant for something more familiar after a long day. The place was dead (which should have been my first sign) but i thought it was just the time of day. I ordered salmon maki and chicken curry tonkatsu, possibly the plainest and simplest Japanese food to go for as I just wanted something I knew. The sushi rice was a brown colour rather than white, but also not actually brown rice, nor was it soy sauce as I found out. It tasted just outright bad and the complete opposite of fresh, I was disappointed but looked forward to the simple curry which couldn't be bad. I was wrong, the entire thing just tasted off, like every ingredient was well past it's best. The chicken was mostly fat and the curry had essentially no veg in it nor the distinctive Japanese curry flavour. Nice little sushi restaurant. It's not so hard to find good ramen restaurant but find good sushi is much harder. For our taste this restaurant is what we like. Convenient place, good variety of sushi, good ingredients and affordable price. It will be even better if next time the rice will be a little bit less sticky and salty but it's just our preference. Maybe in the evening is hard to find a parking spot and the dinning area not so big. But you can always take away. What we like to adjust is to see a list of ingredients for every sushi set in the menu as it hard to choose just by pictures and names. Overall the restaurant is...

If you are looking for high quality sushi this place is not the right place. If you are looking for good sushi rolls for a friendly price this is the right place. Been here many times with my wife and we were never disappointed because we enjoy eating sushi rolls. Very difficult to find quality sashimi in the country side so this isnt the place if you are looking for...
