RAVI RIVA CAFE — Restaurant in Kanchanaburi Province

“Meh”. Advertised as open to 9:00 PM, my wife and I arrived at 6:30 PM, and were told - before we even sat down - to “hurry up and order” as the kitchen was closing soon. Off-putting, to say the least. This restaurant is off the beaten path, and took us 35 minutes to arrive from the Dheva Mantra Resort in Kanchanaburi. It wasn’t worth the drive.

We did “hurry up” and order, however, two of my orders resulted in the waitress returning to tell me the restaurant was “all out” of that particular dish. My third order was filled. My wife ordered a Thai dish, I ordered the pork knuckle, and we ordered a blueberry cheesecake for desert. The cheesecake was put on the table within a few minutes, about 5 minutes later, the Thai food, about 10 minutes after that, the pork knuckle.

It’s nice inside, the food was decent, but this is a very poorly-run restaurant. Why do people go out to eat? To have a nice meal, where they do not have to cook or do the dishes, and be able to relax and enjoy each other’s company before, during, and after a delicious meal.

Ravi Riva doesn’t get this at all. Save yourself the drive, and the experience of poor service; dine...

Ambience: Relaxing and quiet. The restaurant is surrounded by real garden - luscious and healthy plants that is naturally soothing to eyes, especially when it is raining. The interiors is decorated with objects and things from the old days, combined with dried leaves and flowers and Christmas ornaments, it is gives that Christmas homey feels.

Food: Great, had visited this restaurant a number of times. Tried their tuna salad, chicken salad, the pasta, the cake. All were flavorful, size of the dish is just right. Affordable price too.

Update: dec 2022: They added options for shabu and grills with matching live acoustic in alfresco dining at river bank.

Accessibility: You have to go inside a small road from the Wang Sala highway to get to the restaurant. It is easy to find and accessible through private transport.

Parking: Big parking space for customers.

Service and Staff: Short waiting time for the food and...

The price is quite reasonable and seem to be cheap comparing to the decoration inside the Cafe.

Anyhow, the drink taste is soso in 60- 80 THB. Above of all we are disappointed on their Waiter and waitress.

( Thai green tea and Thai Matcha tea) — Matcha latte taste let water with milk and little* sense of Matcha — Thai green tee taste a little good than Matcha, still the taste is not that appreciated

Strawberry Yogurt ( low sugar) taste good 😆. Unfortunately, other drink are too sweet( Soda), not concentrate at all(Coffe, matcha and green tea) — we order matcha but nor get the same quality as per Picture.

(2) The cafe is Full of decoration, somehow, the space is so limit inside the Cool Zone

(3) Fortunately, outside space is quite good atmosphere if it is 23 degree. It also look cozy...
