This place is hard to find. The service is rather slow. The staff doesn't speak English. Yet, this is an easy 5 star. This is exactly the type of place you should go to. The taste of the food makes up for all the small negatives you might have about this modest restaurant .Their target demographic is local Thai people, and this is reflected by the quality of the food and how affordable it is.
They have some things that you won't find in the more touristy area of the island. Unfortunately you won't find them on their English menu which is rather small, you will need to navigate through the Thai menu (use Google lens or/and bring some Thai speakers).
For dish recommendation, go with "Goo I tee ao krua kai" (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่). This simple Thai dish is their hidden gem, and deceptively hard to find elsewhere in Phuket (big flat noodles fried with Chicken). You can't go wrong with it.
If you're looking for an authentic, affordable and delicious local restaurant in the not touristy part of the island, look no further....
Read moreIf you're in Phuket and looking for authentic Southern Thai cuisine, Khrua Jongjit is a must-visit. This humble, Michelin-recognized gem (since 2019) serves bold, fierce flavors that locals and foodies rave about.
I tried their dry red curry fried fish (THB 220) – spicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Also had their soup with local vegetables and pineapple (THB 220), a delightful mix of sour, herbal, and sweet notes. Their Hokkien Mee is also legendary. Pro tip: come early – popular dishes like sataw with prawns sell out quickly.
Every dish is cooked to order, so be patient – it’s worth the wait. Lunchtime can get busy, and parking is limited on the narrow street, so plan accordingly.
The restaurant has a cozy, no-frills vibe, perfect for a true local dining experience. Great for foodies and families alike....
Read moreFunny restaurant...what I saw here the menu is different from the image in below reviews, more expensive, maybe changed already. What I really want to comment is about the serve attitude... after we jus sat down the shopkeeper hurried us for ordering and recommended some dishes which each one of them cost you 400-500tbh,we said want to take a look at the menu first by ourselves, the shopkeeper showed unpleasant immediately and said she has lots of customer(which means we need to order and eat very quick to save the table for others?)in fact there are still some tables in vacant at the same time...finally we decided to leave because of her arrogant attitude. Wouldn’t recommend this...
