The "cafe @ ..." is series of restaurants along a highway in the outskirts of nowhere, large offering dining and event places for small and large groups, often in a kind of huts around a pond. This style of dining out seams to become very popular as almost everybody has a car. Going by tuktuk is an exception. No nearby bus stop. The menu is a wide selection of classical Thai food. cafe@chumphae is both good and friendly. Not cheap. If anyone of the staff likes to sing, they do and very loud. (Jan. 2023) On my second visit I have to downgrade from 3 to 2 stars. Service competence and customer attention are far worse than I remembered. They hire educated staff. One can either sit in loud music or around the corner with the constant roaring of cars and lorries on the highway. (Aug. 2025)

My previous review gave the establishment a 5 star rating. I have visited on a number of occasions and everything has been fine. Last night ( Wednesday ) we arrived at 5 o'clock and the place was quiet. My wife and I were the only dinners inside. We ordered and after approx. 15 minutes my wifes food arrived. She was reluctant to eat by herself , but I told her to proceed. After a further 10 minutes a lady came to the table and informed me that the chefs could not locate the Thai yellow curry. They asked me if I wanted to order something else. I declined and we paid our bill and left and made the 40km journey back home. I would have like to have given zero stars as I had zero food.
