Lunch here at Aura today with my bride . Her dish of Pad See Yew was flavorful, well presented and enjoyed in their gardenesque atmosphere. The staff is spot on taking care of business, right order delivery, timely preparation along with great beverages. The booths inside are comfy , it is cool, well lit, and each seating area has enough space for guest conversations to occur w/ out having to shout.Time didn't allow for walking the grounds yet two or more waterfalls can both be heard and seen , and as others have mentioned should provide a great backdrop for photo opps.I ordered the rib eye steak and it was fair. I knew by the limited beef/ steak options that I should order something different and this may be the only drawback at Aura Cafe , my mistake yet so happy to return again for visit # 3 !/ Update ; Thank you P' Ning for todays Blueberry yogurt smoothie , so creamy , so flavorful !!! Read moreI was told about this cafe/restaurant by a friend who raved about it. It is right on the Khon Kaen bypass, in the Ban Phet district.
It is a big building with quite a lot of outside seating and space, most of which is geared towards photo opportunities.
My first impression of the inside was "Oh, plastic flowers" lots of them. We were quickly shown to a booth and given a couple of large menus, there was a lot to choose from.
We ordered Pak Bung Fai Dang (stir fried morning glory), Gai ped met mamuang (chicken with cashew nuts) and a few sides. The food arrived quite quickly and I have to admit, it was all quite good. The larb tod side tasted a bit processed, maybe from frozen.
I had an Es Som (espresso and orange juice) which was nice enough.
Price wise it is quite reasonable.
The staff were more than helpful and friendly however were quite busy.
I will visit Aura again, the menu was expansive enough to allow for...
Read moreIt's the coffeehouse (please read all) with the most relaxing surroundings and the most beautiful atmosphere for miles around. A magnificent menu from breakfast, lunch, and dinner to dessert. Excellent service until a year and a half ago. It seems as if the menu is oversized or the purchasing department is no longer working. First, I didn't get anything from the breakfast menu at 10:45, with the warning that it was only served until 11:00 (no note on the menu). Three weeks later, no breakfast at 10:00. Another attempt: "too many guests," etc. Further examples follow with friends: we place orders and 10-15 minutes later, we're told "no have" What good is the most beautiful surroundings if I constantly embarrass myself in front of my friends? The service staff isn't to blame for this striking deterioration in service. I was there again this week for the first time in a long time and had to order twice again, first...
