Tucked away in the heart of Krabi, Cha-Lom is an absolute culinary treasure that delivers far beyond expectations. This charming spot serves up some of the finest pork dishes I’ve had in Thailand.
The coconut pork curry was the star of the meal for me – rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced in flavor. Although their pineapple sour curry is a signature dish, I personally leaned toward the milder coconut-based option, and it did not disappoint.
Another standout was the yam pork belly – fragrant, tender, and bursting with flavor. Every bite felt like a celebration of Thai comfort food. Mamma mia!
Their seafood offerings were generous too. The fried fish roe came in a hearty portion and was delightfully crispy with a subtle, savory depth. The steamed fish was decent, though I felt it could benefit from a touch more seasoning or refinement to match the standard of the other dishes.
What truly elevates Cha-Lom is their exceptional service. The staff were warm, attentive, and carried themselves with Michelin-level professionalism. Their hospitality alone makes this place worth visiting.
Overall, Cha-Lom is a must-visit in Krabi, especially if you're a fan of pork dishes done right. Highly...
Read moreCha Lom Cafe in Krabi offers a memorable dining experience with its unique blend of local flavors and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff at the cafe are approachable and knowledgeable, eager to make suggestions that suit the tastes of their guests. On their recommendation, I tried the spicy tom yum-like soup with soft bone pork ribs and the savory sweet taro stewed with pork belly slivers. Both dishes were meticulously prepared, highlighting the fresh ingredients and rich flavors that define Southern Thai cuisine.
The cafe itself boasts an appealing design with tall ceilings and natural elements that create a bright and airy space. The drinks menu is thoughtfully composed, featuring a myriad of interesting sounding drinks. We had the honey hibiscus and a coconut coffee which were excellent. Additionally, the cafe's cake cabinet is filled with an array of tempting desserts, each beautifully presented and equally delicious. While Cha Lom Cafe is on the pricier side, it certainly stands out for its quality and charm, making it a worthwhile stop for anyone...

Everything else made me really upset. The menu is very diverse and it's hard to understand what they sell exactly. This is multiplied by the waitress barely speaking English. It was really hard to communicate. Anyway, this is a Thai restaurant so I can understand that. But what I can't understand is while accepting the order the waitress just silently turned around while I was describing what I wanted and went somewhere, serving other tables and then she returned after a few minutes and continued to accept the order like nothing happened. This is rude and disrespectful.
The food didn't impress me much and at that price I expected it to be better.
And by the way, keeping a bunch of huge koi fish in a small pond 40x40cm near the entrance should be considered as animal cruelty in my opinion. They are clearly...
