Updating review after 2nd visit yesterday - had pizza again (Hawaiian this time and they were cool to let me change the corn topping for mushroom instead - lol, corn?! Strange to have on pizza :)). Pizza still 5 stars.
The oven baked sea bass was perfectly cooked under a shell of pastry crust. When the shell is cut open, a rush of fragrant steam gushes out - scent of stewed tomatoed, olives, capers, garlic, and white wine. The fish was moist and tender. A big downside was that the sauce was extremely salty (I wanted to send it back but didn’t want to waste food). I want to order this again but will not unless I have the assurance that the chef can make it with half the salt 😕
——- review from 1st visit - Definitely 5 stars for food, staff and atmosphere. One of best pizza I've had in Bangkok - not too thin, crispy yet chewy crust, right amount of cheese and vibrant tomato sauce - I had a regular size Napoli (anchovies & I requested mushrooms too) enough as appetizer for 2-3 people but because crust is not thick, I was able to eat the whole pie for dinner! Unfortunately, I was full and was not able to try the pizza oven baked sea bass, or any pasta dishes - which means I’ll have to come back :)
It’s terrific the grand pizza oven is right in the dinning room so the pizza comes to your table HOT (not warm and certainly not cold like it did once when we ordered pizza at Wine Connection). If you like real Italian style pizza, have to...
Read moreJust ordered a Meat Lover pizza (regular size) via GrabFood (10 July 19), the standard was bad - less meat, smaller. We ate here more than 10 times because it’s our favourite place so that we noticed the differences in the quality this time. I called the restaurant. The manager (K’Nueng) from Silom branch gave the reason that the restaurant is focusing on ‘costs’ at the moment. In the past there’s no measure on what the chef put in but now there is one. I asked if you’ve changed the chef. He said no. I asked what’s the solution to this. He hasn’t offered any acceptable one but saying he will give more meat next time. I don’t want more meat. I want the same standard back. Your pizza is 480 thb. What’s worse is my husband and I just went to eat in at the restaurant earlier this same week and the standard was still ok with the popeye pizza (bigger, full meat). Based on the comments below from other customers via Google reviews, seems like the restaurant is trying to cut costs on home delivery customers!!! This is unacceptable. We will move on to different restaurant knowing the restaurant trying to cheat on...
Read moreNot my first time in Ciao Pizza, but the first time I ordered a pizza.
I came in during lunch time - the restaurant was completely empty, I was the only guest. I've ordered the Lunch set with the pizza margarita.
However, the pizza was very "wet" - so after eating the first bites I asked the staff to put the pizza back in oven for a bit longer, staff told me they can't put it back in the oven because it's cut already - they will bring me another one. Then I waited for another 10min or more only to see that the second pizza was even more "wet" that the previous one, I didn't even want to take a bite. So I told them, that this is even worse than before.
The answer from the Chef was: The margarita is like this, because of the cheese.
I have had many pizzas, and this is clearly not how it should be. I asked for the bill, paid fully (!) and left - I didn't have the time to argue or anything else as I wasted a lot of time waiting already.
They didn't even bother to apologize or anything. Not...
