Baan Song Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Mae Hong Son Province

Wow! We were really impressed with this place. We made a stop here for a late lunch on our road trip and were so happy to find this really big restaurant also with a cafe and many fun things to buy. The menu was so big it was really difficult to choose what to order.

I settled on the shrimp paste fried rice because it had so many things with it that looked delicious - a big basket of herbs, some scrambled egg, boiled egg, carrots, chile, onion and chicken. We also ordered a regional salad dish which turned out to be a delicious and fun surprise. It was served warm and had many delicious herbs and cooked veggies. It was delicious.

This is quite possibly my favorite restaurant in Thailand 😍 We literally ate two meals a day here for our entire stay in Mae Hong Son. The menu is extensive with many, many options for food, drinks, and desserts. The desserts were my favorite. Everything arrives quickly and is very presentable and fresh. The atmosphere is fantastic and a great place to relax, visit, or get some work done while drinking a delicious cappuccino. Large and clean bathrooms are available for customers. 3 days into the Mae Hong Song loop and we can say this was hands down our best meal. I don't really write reviews but this place was recommended by our hotel otherwise we would not have found it and feel like the experience warranted a review to help others find it. We tried everything from the Khao Soi Gai to the pastries, coffee and tea. The pan au chocolate was on par with what you would find in France or Montreal.
