The focus here is clearly on the food alone. No decoration, no ambience, just 5 tables with wooden benches in a completely unadorned, half-open room with no air conditioning. But the food, oh boy is it good!
This was our 2nd time there and we had a total of 2 Thai and 2 Italian dishes. One of the Thai dishes came with an unexpected Mediterranean twist. The first bite was a bit confusing, but the second bite made everything fit together wonderfully. I guess they call it fusion cuisine.
What particularly impressed me about the Italian dishes was that they used home-cooked tomato sauce and not the ready-made sauce that is usually used almost everywhere in Thailand.
I like the concept. Since it's really only about the food, you only pay for the food and not for the ambience. The prices are correspondingly low. That's why only the food can be rated. It's so good that anything less than 5 stars...

If you are anywhere within 100km of Mukhadan's Chef Kai, I highly recommend you come and eat here. Don't let the location and esthetics of the place fool you.
