My family and I was there during a long public holiday July 28-31 2018 and it was way too crowded. Hotel is quite old despite the price we paid. But you can see they try to keep up the maintenance. It gives out a Thai style hotel. Big with lots of activities.
Everything was branded organic. I like it though but they emphasize it too much im getting tired of the word "organic" as a marketing person they overuse the word.
The breakfast buffet was super crowded and the restaurant was under staff on the 29th morning. Theres not enough seat in the inside so me and my mother have to sit outside. I dont mind sitting outside but there were no forks and spoons set up on the table outside. My mother had to set up the table herself because all the staff was occupied and no where to be seen. But apart from the busy day, i bet the hotel is very peaceful and super super super quiet.
Their restaurant staff esp chefs on the station really needs to be trained on their behavior and hospitality. The omelette chef was ranting to my mom how busy he was yesterday with all the 300 clients he served up. He said " เมื่อวานจะเป็นประสาท แขกเยอะ 300กว่าคน คุณไม่มาคุณไม่รู้หรอก แต่ละคนจะเอานุ่นนี่ เรื่องเยอะ"Im like hello we are here too yesterday. Another issue is my mother was queuing up for ขนมครก when she offer to help him with hetting the snack off the pot. He say คุณทำไม่เป็นหรอก ไม่ใช่ง่ายๆนะ then my mother just stood there waiting for the queue. When theres too many people queueing he throw my mom a spoon. I mean how rude! Then my mother successfully แคะขนมครก and then leave gracefully. My mother use to work in hotel industry and this shouldnt be happening. Hotel staff should not be complaining other client to another client. That is just not right. However p'therasak who is the waitress was very very nice...
Read moreWe have stayed at the Suan Sampran over the weekend for a quick escape from the city. The hotel was showing its age but still has the old grande dame charm which is very nice. The room we have stayed in are in need of a serious renovation with paints peeling everywhere, torn carpets and broken furnitures. The toilets needed replacement and the lighting needs to be upgraded. While the hardware is dilapidated, the service and activities did really made up for it.||We took a tour to Patom organic farm across the river and was amazed by its beautiful sceneries and the effort they have put to create a truly organic experience. The organic market in the main area is really good and the grounds of the hotel is kept in immaculate condition with beautiful flora and fauna.||The restaurants in the hotel serves one of the best Thai food in the whole world. We had lunch at the Inn Chan and was extremely impressed by the quality of the food and the taste of it. Dinner and Breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby was really really good with dishes in Tapas sizes meaning we could order a few dishes to try. The desserts are really good and the Thai Dessert sampler with the coconut moose "Tako" is to die for so is the Coconut Ice Cream.||Overall, with new renovations the hotel would be a wonderful destination that could rival the likes of luxury brands as it was simply a quick drive from Central Bangkok but seems like a...
