Tara Cafe Khao Yai — Restaurant in Nakhon Ratchasima Province

What a waste of a beautiful location! Saw this place on Thai TV and was interested as it was situated in such a nice, tranquil setting. On arriving it was anything but tranquil. There is no system to getting tables, no staff to help so you just walk around until you find one. When you do you have a limited menu on a piece of paper entirely in Thai (just incase you cannot read Thai you will need someone that can) It wazs basic Thai fare, fried chicken and rice, pad grapow pork, pad thai, along those lines. Once filled in you have to go to a till to order and pay (it took me over 30 minutes) then you have self service drinks to prepare and take to your table, of which you have forgotten the location in the seemingly endless queue. The food when it arrived was ok, nothing special, but edible. I had the pork pad grapow and my wife the pad thai. we also ordered fried chicken to share. When it arrived it was a chicken salad, not what I had selected on the order form. We asked to change it and told we could. After we had finished our food and drinks the chicken had not arrived so we asked to cancel and told we could not get our money back because it was being cooked. This was not a relaxing experience, as I had imagined by a little waterfall surrounded by nature. If this place was run better with full staffing and efficient order taking then it could be lovely, as was another place we went to on the river (Krou Nam Tok in Mual Lek) but the way it is run now, it is...

English/ Español There is plenty of parking space. As you first come in to the open area full of trees and plants, you get a sense of peace. The front is not a cover/shade area but some chairs are available. You have to place your order, pay and after you get your drinks. I had a hot latte and the taste was average. There are indoor area where you can sit and enjoy a drink/like a coffee shop. The nice part is as you continue to walk further in and get to the open area by the river. There is plenty of place to sit, shared area and a great place to enjoy a drink, food and to take some great pictures or read a book.

Hay mucho espacio de estacionamiento. Cuando entras por primera vez al área abierta llena de árboles y plantas, obtienes una sensación de paz. El frente no es un área de cobertura / sombra, pero hay algunas sillas disponibles. Debe realizar su pedido, pagar y después de recibir sus bebidas. Tuve un café con leche caliente y el sabor era normal. Hay un área interior donde puede sentarse y disfrutar de una bebida / como una cafetería. River side cafe offers food and drink at reasonable price. There are many seating located at different area of the cafe, only limited seating along the river side. We were lucky enough to get seats at the river side and under the tree, even it was noon time but not hot at all. The whole cafe is surrounded by giant trees and bamboos.

We noticed the cafe is facing the East so the sun will set at the back of the cafe. It means there will be more and more seating area under the shadow of trees when time goes by. You can visit there any time of the day.

The price was reasonable and food taste was Ok too. We spent a very relaxing moment there. Definitely want to visit there again.

This place is suitable for couples or small group of 4 persons. It will be difficult to find good seating in case of a big group. I saw most big groups have to sit and eat under the sun with little shadow covering with electrical fan at the side, could not enjoy the relaxing atmosphere beside the...
