A disappointing experience — lacking value in every aspect

This meal fell short on nearly every front — from ingredient quality and flavor execution to the structure of the course itself. Many dishes felt like an attempt to “reimagine Thai cuisine through a Western lens,” but without a deep understanding of its essence.

Proteins were repetitive across the course, lacking variety or a standout moment. One glaring example was the stir-fried cabbage with whole Sichuan peppercorns — biting into them was unpleasant and disrupted the entire experience of the dish.

Desserts were underwhelming and failed to provide a memorable or satisfying conclusion to the meal. The overall presentation lacked character, story, or emotional connection — something you would expect from a dining experience at this level.

Unfortunately, this was not worth the price paid. It lacked both finesse and substance, and I would not return or recommend it.

Thank you for your reply. When I mentioned “a Western lens,” I was referring to how the interpretation of Thai flavors in this meal seemed influenced by a more Western approach — focusing more on conceptual techniques rather than the depth and familiarity of traditional Thai taste.

That may very well be the intended style, which I respect, but personally, it didn’t quite connect with the kind of Thai flavor profile I’m familiar with.

Of course, this is just one perspective from a single experience. I appreciate the effort behind the meal and thank you again for...

Living in On Nut for over 11 years, I recently discovered this restaurant on Google Maps. Had to book 2 months in advance for a spot late November and now I totally understand why ร้านหอม is becoming more and more popular.

I had a really nice dining experience here. It’s a so called supper club concept, which means you are sharing the table with strangers. The restaurant is cozy and nicely decorated.

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the appetisers. It is as Thai as it can get. Which means it does get spicy, so be prepared if you aren’t used to it!

You have to share the mains with the other guests. As one of them was 50 mins late and missed the appetisers, I could tell he was hungry and took more than the others. In the end I had enough, but I wasn’t that full.

The owner/chef is a cool guy and the staff was attentive and friendly. If you are looking for a nice dining experience with amazing Thai food, this should...
