🍣 MAGURO Sushi – Ratchaphruek–Chaiyaphruek (Nonthaburi | Chic Republic) When the sushi comes late and the mood goes stale.

As a longtime customer of this branch, I’ve seen it shine — but unfortunately, this visit wasn’t one of those days. It was a textbook case of how slow service can ruin a good meal.

🪑 Queue Drama, Despite Empty Seats We had to wait far too long for a table despite seeing plenty of vacant ones. That alone raised eyebrows — but it was only the beginning.

👨‍🍳 Kitchen Confusion After placing our order, I noticed something odd — our printed order slip was sitting visibly on the kitchen counter for ages. No one touched it. The chefs simply worked around it until we finally followed up with the staff… and only then did they start preparing it. Result? Dishes came out sporadically, breaking the flow of the meal and the mood.

🍽️ What We Ordered • Salmon Sashimi – Still fresh, buttery, and generous. A highlight. • Mixed Sashimi Salad – Crisp, well-balanced. One of my go-to dishes. • Pacific Don – Same as CTW branch, solid in presentation and taste. • Salmon Saikyo Roll – Tasty, but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking.

🔥 Once-Great Foie Gras, Now Just ‘Meh’ The once-glorious foie gras sushi was a letdown. Cold in the center, lacking the rich aroma it used to have, and much smaller in portion. It’s like the soul of this dish went missing.

🎯 Promo Failure The 59THB Maguro Sushi promo? Sold out. Again. It’s becoming a pattern — they advertise great deals, but by the time you order, they’re gone. Disappointing for loyal fans.

⸻

📌 Pros • Salmon and sashimi still top-tier • Spacious, well-designed standalone branch • Complimentary valet parking • Sashimi salad never fails

🚧 Cons – Waited for a table despite empty seats – Order was ignored until follow-up – Food came out disjointed, ruining the flow – Cold foie gras, smaller sushi portions – Sushi rice loosely packed – Promotions often out of stock

⸻

🧾 Final Thoughts MAGURO used to be about seamless premium sushi experiences — now it’s about waiting, wondering, and whispering to the kitchen staff. The food is still good in parts, but poor service and execution break the magic. If you’re patient and lucky, you might still enjoy it… but I sincerely hope they get their...

I have always been a fan of Maguro, however, my visit to this branch was a major disappointment.

As soon as we arrived, I had to go up to the counter and asked to be put on the queue—no problem, the wait to be seated was not too long for us. However, we did notice that there were so many empty seats around, yet still a long queue outside.

Granted, I went there during their promotional period with the salmon feast menu and this was the only good thing I have to say about. The salmon was fresh and they served it fairly quickly.

The same thing could not be said for other things. Our orders were served very slowly; we had also order hot green tea and it took a really long time for them to prepare and even came after the food. The Mori Mori Don was also not that fresh and a little fishy.

The foie gras lemon roll was incredibly disappointing, lacking the usual rich flavour. Additionally, on the menu, the 4 pieces was 260 THB but they had marked up the price without informing us. We did not find out until paying that the price had been increased to 305 THB.

Their slow service made the whole experience worse. There were many empty seats, but still a long queue up front. Trying to order additional food was a pain. In the end, we couldn’t even use a discount or sign up for the free membership even though our bill came out to be over 1,500 THB.

Overall, I don’t recommend coming to this branch unless you want mediocre food and...

The food was exceptional. The salmon and akami bluefin were really fresh and juicy. The foie gras lemon roll was amazingly delicious. Every piece was complimented with a slice of lemon to eliminate the feeling of cheesiness. The baby scallop was great with a hint of spiciness. However, some of the staff members were discourteous. The tone in which they spoke was not friendly. Their faces were not "service-minded" faces. I thought that was the end of it. I was on my way out. One staff member was clearly blocking the way but she didn't step aside or make room for me whatsoever. So overall I'm...

Great Japanese food! Free refills on green tea, both hot and cold. Not dog friendly but if you sit outside (still in the mall) and have a stroller your dog can be with you there. The Froie gras is very generous! And a nice luxurious addition (if you eat that.) Menu is huge, Sushi, Nigiri and Sashimi. We even had their amazing strawberry and matcha desserts. It’s not the cheapest, but you’ll leave very satisfied. Happy to recommend.
