Makai Cafe and Space — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

If there’s anything that could encapsulate the true spirit and creative drive of entrepreneurship in Southern Thailand, this cafe fits the bill perfectly. Not only is this a cool spot for a cup of Joe in the heart of an old small town but the way every corner has been envisioned and built is simply fascinating. Plenty of cool corners inside and outside and an adjoining loft style hotel just adds to the coolness factor. You would be forgiven to think that you’re somewhere in a cool soi somewhere in Bangkok or Tokyo but this place simply oozes does of cool.

Will definitely take the 1.5 hour drive again from Phuket...

An absolutely beautiful space that oozes homeyness. The interior is a work of art. The homemade egg tarts and cookies are delicious. We had the original egg tarts, brownie cookies, and soft chocolate chip cookies.

If you're drinking coffee, definitely try their special E-Coco Blossom which is espresso with coconut. If you don't drink coffee, try their Caramel Milky.
