Thanoon Seafood — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

A really nice Thai restaurant by the beach specializing in seafood. Great to visit if you’re looking to try some typical Thai food and a few western dishes while you visit Phuket.

Very tasty food available for dine in, or takeout.

Service here was great. Very quick and attentive. Mostly thai, but we understood each other just fine without needing any technology to help.

The portions of the actual food were perfect.

My friend really enjoyed his green chicken curry and rice, though was a bit too spicy for him. My fresh (raw) shrimp with fish sauce were spicy and delicious (no stomach issues after). My grilled prawns (market price) were huge and delicious, well prepared.

Beware, some might be too spicy for some people so make sure you ask your server if they can do just a little spicy or not spicy, if you’re German or something.

Payments accepted with cash or card. Proffered cashless here.

Reservations not needed even on weekdays during busy season. Can keep luggage nearby table. Google maps not always correct, so maybe call before you come if you’re coming from far away.

Handicap friendly and wheelchair accessible. Ground floor. A few small steps here and there.

Parking for car and motorcycle nearby.

They have some lose dogs on site but they’re friendly. They didn’t even bother barking when we left, but they walked us out to our scooter 🐾

Just take left after the bridge if you driving from Phuket and you will have a good view of the strait and the Sarasin Bridge's. There is a air-con as well as a outdoor seating. Only 15 meters to the sea and if you like you can walk up on the old bridge for a fantastic view. The food is traditional Thai seafood dishes and the menu is written in Thai and English. Good service and friendly faces among all the staff. Fresh vegetables and tasty scrimps. We ordered fish, scrimps, and crab cakes together with a couple of vegetabledishes and they were all tasty. This restaurant was a great find for us. Food and service were both exceptional, especially the service. It’s a pity that we arrived when it was already dark out and we didn’t sit outdoors as we were worried about the mosquitos. We had their pineapple fried rice, crab meat fried rice, sea grapes salad, fried snapper, spicy raw prawns with fish sauce and egg tofu with seaweed soup. Standout for me was the crab fried rice.
