Kitty and I, along with a group of friends, were on a road trip through Thailand, making our way from Phuket to Krabi. Our friend had planned Thian Leng Bak Kut Teh (āđāļāļĩāļĒāļāđāļŦāļĨāđāļ āļāļ°āļāļļāđāļāđāļāđ) as one of our lunch stops, as it had rave reviews on Google and we were all craving some delicious Bak Kut Teh.
We quickly learned that this restaurant is highly acclaimed for its exceptional Bak Kut Teh, a traditional Malaysian pork rib soup. Thian Leng has even earned a spot in the Michelin Guide for its authentic and flavorful Bak Kut Teh, which is prepared using a secret recipe from Kedah, Malaysia. As soon as we entered the shop, we saw a display of their Michelin awards, a testament to their consistent quality and excellence from 2021 to 2025.
The soup is slow-cooked with a blend of Chinese herbs and spices, resulting in a rich, aromatic broth that is both savory and medicinal. The pork ribs are incredibly tender and fall off the bone easily, making for a truly satisfying and comforting meal.
We ordered the signature Bak Kut Teh, and it truly lived up to the hype. The broth was flavorful and aromatic, and the pork ribs were cooked to perfection. We also couldn't resist trying the pork blood and a comforting porridge, which were both delicious and perfectly complemented the Bak Kut Teh.
The restaurant itself was visited by locals and tourists alike, and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we felt well taken care of.
Thian Leng Bak Kut Teh is a popular destination for a reason. It's a recommended visit for anyone in the Phang-Nga area looking for an authentic and delicious Bak Kut...

Review: Thian Leng Bak Kut Teh â A Bowl of Comfort in Every Sip
If youâre a fan of hot, hearty soup with fragrant Chinese herbs, Thian Leng Bak Kut Teh is a must-visit. This humble spot serves up one of the most satisfying bowls of bak kut teh around.
The herbal broth is rich but not overpowering â well-balanced with just the right amount of herbal aroma. The pork ribs are tender and fall-off-the-bone soft, simmered to perfection and served piping hot in a clay pot, which keeps everything warm and cozy throughout your meal.
Donât miss the you tiao (Chinese fried dough) â crispy on the outside, fluffy inside â perfect for dipping into the broth. You can pair your soup with fragrant steamed rice or noodles, depending on your mood.
The staff are friendly, service is quick, and the prices are reasonable. Itâs a great place to share a comforting meal with friends or family.
Verdict: Authentic bak kut teh with flavorful broth and tender meat, served in a cozy setting. Definitely worth a visit if youâre craving something warm...
Read moreMy wife (Thai) was happy with the food but for me it wasn't really good. We had bak kut teh some rice and Mee Sua. The bill came and they charged us for 3 more things we didn't order, a coke another kut teh and rice. The bill was nearly double amount what we should have paid. We got the money back after complaining but is wasn't a good experience. I also had better bak kut teh in a random local Dim Sum restaurant in phuket. They said all misunderstanding but we were the only table there....
