Gosh well, I never thought I would be giving a poor review to a place that is in such a beautiful location and fun decor. So Sorry :(
When I visited on Thursday the person that was working there (no idea if is the owner or not) was quite rude. The cafe was actually closed, which is ok of course, but I wanted to take a video of the area and the cafe from the outside.
The person I spoke to was using an air tool to inflate something large. I politely asked if they could hold for 2 minutes so I could take a very quick video and instead of turning off the machine to hear me properly, they just kept telling me to repeat what I said, with the noise so impossible to speak over. So, I said (loudly), could they please turn off the machine to hear me, which is when I requested the 2 minutes for the video. The person wasnt happy about it but accepted.
I realise that I shouldnt expect someone to stop working but given that I was on a long (430 km) ride that day, and specifically made a point to go visit the cafe, I felt rather sad about the rude interaction at such a simple request.
Previously I thought it might be quite nice to stay there one night, but now I won't be going back.
Disappointed,...
Read moreMillion dollar scenic view to watch the sunrise that worth a lifetime of memories. Highly recommend to visit after October to feel the cool winter mist. This place is both a café and homestay. If you want to stay here, plan to book at least six months in advance. Hard to access this place by public transportation. Best way to get here is by renting a car from Chiangrai and drive up through the mountains to Payao. Beautiful road trip to this place but recommend to arrive the night before to get well rested before waking up early to watch the most amazing sunrise of your life. Also it’s a bit scary to drive through the mountains at night if you are not used to the roads since it can be pretty hilly. Try to go there when it’s still dark to witness the beautiful purple sky before the sun comes out to say hello. This café also serves classic breakfast and coffee to enjoy with the wonderful view. Go early because it can get...
Read moreMagic mountain. The coffee is good. Best of what I had in this trip but no where near the good coffees in Chiangmai. This region isn’t good for growing coffee therefore good coffee is hard to find. The view here is lovely and I can see why people gravitate here. The decor and ambiance is comfortable and soothing. There are sadly only two rooms available for rent. This place is good for chilling for an hour or two for pictures. Most people are preoccupied with photo taking rather than making meaningful conversations. Unless it’s a specific quiet retreat, most people don’t stay long. #magicmountaincafe #pongdistrict #phayao #northernthailand #cafethailand #amazingview #chillingout #coffeedrinker @ Magic...
