Fondue house and much more — Restaurant in Phetchabun Province

Remarkable !!! Thank you Khao Kor for your breeze & cool air 🌬️ ! I saw their menu ( Fondue house ) on Google maps and knew this was a " Must visit ". In Reality it is a Must- Must visit !! 🏆 Tall ,refreshing , appealing presentation beginning w/ O.J. ( nam som). Outdoor seating late morning was fine although they offered indoor dining which is quite nice and they can accommodate a very large group ! My caesar was great although different via including baby red & orange tomatos halved. This made it colorful, seasoned flavorful croutons ✅, shaved parmesan lengths and a butter lettuce which was fine instead of romaine. All tossed, plenty of dressing & delicious. By the way the rustic sourdough bread came fresh from the ovens of Udon Thani ! Special , twin slices served w/ real butter & a homemade pesto spread. Nice touch 👍!! The bread came in handy for finishing up the salad dressing - " Good to the last drop " and also saved a slice for my Filet. Offered two ways ; Thai beef or Argentinian beef - I opted Argentinian & ordered medium rare toward medium. Great sear w/ a crunch on the edges , just slight pink a perfect channel between med. rare & medium & flavorful +++. Several sauces are offered , I chose Cafe de Paris herb 🌿 butter and so perfectly paired ✅. The veggies were carrot cubes , buttery & melt in your mouth delicious alongside local green beans sauteed & tender. Your call on the starch ; french fries, fried potato wedges skinned or mashed. I chose the french fries and there was a whooping lg. portion , maybe sixty, seventy or more. Thanks for offering Heinz 57 Ketchup tableside ! What an incredible meal ( my lunch today ! ) I kept the menu tableside and studied there many German/ Swiss / American / Thai offerings as a future visit ( s ) is on the table. Why leave when I could enjoy a creme brulee covered w/ fresh berries ! Please make this a " Want to go " visit when you are anywhere close whether Phitsanalok, Phetchabun , Nam Nao , Loei - you will have made a worthwhile venture , promise. My server was keen to notice I like ice , so she made 5 or so nam kaen ( ice cubes ) add ons to my nam plao ( water ). Relaxed, never rushed & such familiar & wonderful 🎶 music . Thanks a Million everyone !!! Update ; Return visit , see the pics of the mouth watering Pork Cordon Bleu w/ sauteed carrots & french fries. Nice portions ✅, and the out of the oven heat has you patiently waiting the first cordon bleu bite as the cheese is like a lava flow ! This visit I had the house salad & upgraded adding 🥑. The honey / oil / vinagrette was so 😋 tasty. I hope to make my third visit shortly after the new month ! Delectable gravy & tender beef w/ bell peppers & onions in lieu of the mushrooms. First time having spaetzel and a pleasant surprise 😋. I have visited this nice and cosy restaurant several times since its startup in in Khao Kor in 2021 and has always been happy with the well tasting cuisine and good service received from the owners Khun Poo and Uncle Daniel. The European and especially the Swiss courses are well prepared, and you can enjoy the food both inside and outside. There is also a great selection of wine and beer to choose from to take along with the meal.

The restaurant is well placed on Route 12 between Phitsanulok and Khon Kaen with direct access from the 12 main road and offers you a perfect heavenly resting place on the way. If you are tired of driving or seek shelter from the rain, then this is the place to take a stop with plenty of parking space. It is also possible to stay overnight if it gets too late to drive.
