Nawang Steak — Restaurant in Phetchaburi Province

This is a very cool roadside restaurant between Hua Hin and Cha-am. It has upstairs seating and you can have your meal and watch traffic pass below. The service is attentive and friendly. The steak, which is their specialty, is perfectly cooked and seasoned. It is local beef, unless you order Australian or New Zealand cuts from the menu, which is, of course, more expensive. I ordered a local t-bone and my companion had a striploin. I chose the side order of fries and she got mashed potatoes. We both got a side of gravy. The mashed potatoes were very good. The fries, crinkle cut, came to the table at room temperature and were ok. We also got a Caesar salad to share. Tiny, tiny croutons, sliced egg and lettuce with a too-sweet dressing on top that reminded me nothing of a Caesar salad. I don’t recommend it. The bottles of Heineken came to my table ice cold. We came for dinner and once food was served decided to come for breakfast and we enjoyed it. This restaurant is highly recommended, it's hard to find a restaurant which is serving delicious quality food and not overpriced. Having live in TH for over 15 yrs and travelled all around, i can confidently say that this place is perfect for both locals and foreigners. Quiet friendly restaurant which serves both Western and Thai food. The best thing is that it is a little set back from the road so whilst you are eating by the roadside you're able to enjoy a lush breezy setting! We went there twice - once during the daytime for lunch, and then another day for dinner. Our group of five ate both Western and Thai dishes. Taste-wise it was okay - nothing particularly special.
