Outstanding! This was my first trip to Thailand from USA. I was worried I would be exhausted from the length of the travel to get here so having a place to come that would allow for a slow start to our trip was ideal. All of the communications I had with Art through email/facebook/whatsapp worked out exactly as promised, he provided suggestions on how to get to the hotel from the airport, taking a taxi to the property rather than messing with the ferries and boats - this was the right move (I would probably use Grab (much like Uber) next time). I saw ARTTRA Villa on a YouTube video and was intrigued. The restaurant, pool, boardwalk, were splendid. They are beautifully cared for. The pool was warm and clean, partly shaded partly sunny! The biggest downside of Arttra Villa was how great the food was! It left little reason to leave the property to go try other places. The prices were reasonable, service was good, had a few different beers, some wine, and full bar. Art also arranged a tour around the area for us to see a local market, a temple, and a very pretty park near by. I can't thank Art enough for his hospitality, the stories he shared, and the time and energy he provided my wife and I. The attached photo was a sunrise from the roof top patio.

Sadly not as good as expected. The island is fantastic and the roof top with the view is stunning. Breakfast maybe it is better for Thai people, but American Breakfast was a joke. Also the Beef Burger, but my partner was satisfied with the breakfast soup and the Pa Sew. Just joined for a beer in the evening, because too many mosqitos around the pool area. Room was spacious and clean, but on the second day the AC broke. I told the personal, but she ment it was normal during daytime and it was just running at night. She didn't wanna check, so I had to believe her. And when we came home 23.00 from dinner with friends the room had 33 degrees and the AC still did not work. Hell of a night, as noone available to contact at that time. When we told the next morning there was no big interest in it, so we paid Food and drinks and left. (you get no Grab or Taxi there) Pool was full of leaves and the stuff likes it that i cleaned it while I was in the pool after a little cykeltour. Recommend strongly recommend to hire other bikes as the Hotels are not well maintained and to small for a European. So in total a little overpriced and not as good as expected.

TOUR OF THE GREEN LUNG: The always-personable Art, owner/manager of this scenic and charming hotel, took my family on an outstanding 5-hour tour of the island. Fond memories all round! We were picked up directly from the ferry pier that side at 3pm (we left from Wat Kloeng Toey Pier), and driven to a cafe for some very proper coffee and ice cream, before heading to the temple for a blessing from the monks and cathartic gong bashing. Spiritually renourished, we left for the local arboretum to stroll through lush jungle, enjoy the bird-song (great around 5pm) and build an appetite. The day rounded out at the charming Arttra Villa, with sunset views, a feast of Thai and Chinese food classics, decent red wine, and fine live music (from Art... not short on talent). Hard to ask for much more, and absolutely worth the tour price. Highly recommend.

We decided to visit the green lung after seeing Chris Parkers recent youtube video. I contacted Art to see if we could stop by as a day trip, as sadly we had already booked and paid for our Bangkok accom months prior so couldnt change our itinerary. Art was very prompt with replies, so helpful with loads of info and invited us to visit him and his lovely villa as a day trip. We were travelling with two teenagers, and they really enjoyed the longtail across the river to the local pier, riding bikes around the green lung, but mostly the relaxing vibe and excellent hospitality offered to us by Art and his staff. We enjoyed food, drinks and a swim before returning to Bangkok in the evening. Thankyou so much for a lovely day visit - a fantastic option to beat the noise and chaos of Bangkok! Next time we will stay with you for a few days. (Also sad we missed meeting the puppies by one day!!) Kellie and Nick...
