Today I had a chance to have breakfast and grab a beverage. There was a restaurant where you had to fall in line and order and carry your tray to the table. I felt like turning back time when I was in high school where you had to order your food in the lunch line. There was limited choices because I went there as soon as it opened so not all options were ready to serve. However it was still very delicious. Next to the restaurant was a souvenir shop where you can get hand made clothing items. Once your done having food you can take your receipt and get a discount for the cafe. I ordered a cup of tea and a Thai milk tea. There was a couple of great spots to take photos in the cafe. The taste was alright, but the ambience was better. I would probably say to go early to get easier access to photo spots and to avoid the crowds. Overall it was a great place to drop by if your in Phrae especially if you are coming off the train. Good old food and coffee shop Suan Saithong is an old northern food shop established since 1988. At present, they add a nice coffee shop into the service. Saithong is well-known for its unique northern-style sausage grilled on mud stove and other northern Thai dishes, together with a natural lemon-honey drink. It is a self-service shop where you order food, pay, collect the food and find the table you like. The shop provides lots of seating and good, clean restrooms. The restaurant was decorated artistically with Bamboos hut. Restaurant operation was very organised. Order your food and collection at the next station. Wish they have english menu with pictures to ease the ordering process. Staffs was helpful to assist us with the ordering. The pork sausages served was stuffed with herbs and lemongrass Chiang Mai Style, hence its not to everyone taste. Its still delicious to me. Haha. The pork ribs with black pepper sauce was good.
