MOONSTo̲̲NE cafe over the Sea — Restaurant in Phuket Province

We visited this pier for the first time and were absolutely charmed by the location. There’s spacious parking right on the pier, and just a few steps down the stairs, right by the water, you’ll find this hidden gem of a café.

Moonstone serves excellent coffee brewed from Chiang Mai beans. I ordered their signature iced cappuccino with cheese foam — divine. The breakfasts are creative and full of personality. I had one served on sourdough bread with sautéed spinach, a piece of white fish (!), two poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce with red chili. A bold Thai twist on a classic. I love how they experiment with the menu! It was incredibly tasty, but I recommend to the team to slightly adjust the amount of hollandaise. With the runny yolks, it turned into a small lake of sauce and egg on the plate. Just a little tweak needed — but the flavors were still absolutely phenomenal.

We also tried the square croissant with ice cream. Both the croissant and the ice cream were fantastic.

This place definitely has its own style and concept, giving me the feeling of seaside bar/cafe, also made me think of being in a submarine sort of feeling…maybe because of its location that is under the building… I can understand why this coffee spot is successful and popular among visitors and also locals who seek for cozy views for their instagram posts and other social sites sharing.

However, if one is looking for a cafe that serves a real, quality coffee, perhaps this one is not on the top list. People there can’t distinguish between cafe latte and flat white. The cold drinks were fair enough but not yet great. They serve hot food starting from noon; cakes and pastries are also available. The service was...

-The waiter brought me matcha cold and I wanted hot, I said okay no problem. I tried it was bitter. I explained via google translate he put a straw and drank from it adding sugar then, expect me to drink it after he drank from it. -No apology was given, they did not change it nothing. -I had a croissant with ice cream they decided to add the flavor they want without asking and, I have allergy from chocolate that the put on top. if you do not have a car it’s not worth going. -taking a bike there is a bad idea. -Personally will never go there again.
