Did not stay at the hotel. They look modest.
The BBq cowboy theme was fun and novel for Thailand, but Texan's or real BBQ fans will be unsatisfied.
We came for "The Wood Challenge". Online we saw that you had 30 minutes and the price was ฿999. But we were disappointed to find out the price is now ฿1,259, and the monthly time livit record record had been reduced to 21 minutes meaning unless you eat all the food in less than 21 minutes you have to pay the full retail price. Evidently this time required is reset the first of every month, to earn a free meal.
So we went with the ฿800 smaller wood plater. The best were the two onion rings, the french fries, & the 2 ribs (fall off the bone tender). They said it was enough for two people but we both left hungry. The chicken was a nice piece of chicken breast, but lacked flavor, so we had to ask for some additional barbecue sauce to make it edible. The hamburgers were like mini sliders not a real hamburger. The vegetables were more enjoyable than some reviewers make them sound out to be. Won't be returning as it's nearly 15 km away from the main part of town call me when you get better quality and quantity of food in the basement of the local mall. 😥😭 Which after spending nearly 900 baht for 2 people, I was still hungry and went to the mall to have a 60 Baht Thai dish. 😂😭🤔. Mall food is about 1/3 of...
Read moreOver the years, kickin' around Hua Hin, I've heard the name "60s Town" tossed around, from time to time, but never thought to find out what it was. The other day I was driving by and the sign happened to to catch my eye. A quick Google search revealed quite an intriguing restaurant, so this evening I paid a visit. Am I glad I did. An old west themed restaurant serving American, International and Thai fare: it's not just a place to eat, it's a place to eat well ... and enjoy a special ambiance while doing so. The food we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious and the staff were great....each with their own hip style. There's even a 30 minutes eating challenge in which you can either eat for free if completed solo, or if completed in tandem your pictures will be displayed on the wall for all to see. Be warned though, I saw the tray of food this evening and it was massive. This is an all around great place and we are already looking forward...
Read moreThis it the first time I've visited a restaurant based on a Facebook advertisement. It looked like a nice place so we decided to go.
It was about a 20 minuet Tuk-Tuk ride from where we were. Although it's not far out of town it feels like you have gotten away from everything when you get there, no traffic, just peace and quiet.
We took a seat inside and menus were brought to the table. There were many things that looked good but I finally settled on the Cheeseburger while my girlfriend decided to order the Salmon.
It didn't take much time at all till our orders were ready, both were plated well and looked good,
We both enjoyed our orders, my burger was cooked just right, flavorful and juicy. My girlfriend said that her salmon tasted very fresh.
The restaurant itself has an old-time Americana feel to it, like something you might run across on Route 66 during the 30's or 40's.
We will be returning to try some of the other offerings...
