We’ve been wanting to visit this place for a long time, but only today did we get the chance. The interior is very atmospheric, with an interesting design. Honestly, that’s probably the best thing about this place.
When we arrived, there were only three other guests in the restaurant, but there were no waitstaff in the hall. After waiting for a bit, we picked up the menu ourselves, and just a minute after we opened it, a waitress came to take our order. We asked her to come back in three minutes, and then… she disappeared. Even when someone from the kitchen called her, she didn’t hurry and only came to us a few minutes later. The service was absolutely terrible. I could understand if the restaurant was busy, but there were just three people there, and they were already eating.
As for the food, it was a joke. I ordered seafood noodles, and my husband ordered seafood spaghetti, expecting something European-style. In the end, they brought my husband’s food first, and I had to wait another five minutes for mine. Imagine my surprise when both dishes turned out to be exactly the same – just noodles on one plate and pasta on the other. Why the dishes didn’t come out at the same time is a mystery. Another mystery is why we had to pay 90 baht more for the pasta when it was clearly a Thai-style dish. On top of that, there was hardly any seafood in either dish – just lots of tough leaves, whole black peppercorns, and ginger that we had to pick out while eating.
In conclusion – total disappointment. There are better places nearby with better service, tastier food, and...
Read moreIt was our 2nd visit to Black Elephant as the first one was a good experience. We were excited and even brought our overseas guests here for dinner. When we stepped in, we noticed there were a few occupied tables and 2 tables partially served with food while the rest were waiting. One couple looked rather impatient and almost finished their drinks. No one served us as we enter, I had to go to the kitchen for the staff attention. After waiting for a while, we sensed that it's going to be a longgg night. No thanks. We had dinner elsewhere, My suggestion is to eat here if the restaurant is empty so that you can be 1/2 to 1 hr ahead of the rest. The food is good but the staff are not efficient and well trained to manage the crowd, that ruins the dining experience. I may still return for my pork shahslik IF the...
Read moreI recently visited Black Elephant Bar in Som Roi Yat, and it was a fantastic experience! (As you can see from the photo, the food was so good I forgot a before pic)
The cashew chicken and pad krao were absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Both dishes offered a great balance of flavors and were quite satisfying. The bar also offers cheap beer, which was a pleasant surprise, making it a great spot for enjoying a meal and drinks without breaking the bank.
What really sets Black Elephant Bar apart is its beautiful view. Whether you’re looking to relax after a long day or enjoy a night out with friends, the scenic surroundings create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. I highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area and looking for good food, affordable drinks, and a...
