Nice looking venue, but slightly disappointing experience. Starting with the positives, the pizza was great, and the steak was perfect. Our son liked the kids Spaghetti Bolognese, but would have preferred a tomato sauce option. Sandwich selection was smaller than expected, considering its a deli. No pastrami. I went with a Cubano, which was nothing like a Cubano. I'm OK with the non-authentic part, but the bread was rock hard, and the thick cuts of pork steak were fatty, so it couldn't trait be eaten like a sandwich. The pesto salad dressing was completely void of flavor. As far as I could tell, there was no other salad dressing option to save the salad. Baked potatoe wasn't served with butter nor sour cream. Just a dry potato. Based on the looks of the place, I assumed they'd have a wine list. But no, they have only two "wines of the month", one red and one white. I was not fond of the Malbec we ordered. Service was inefficient. There are separate menus for the dinner entrees, kids selections, sandwiches, and drinks. And they didn't bring them all at once. We had to keep asking for them, like "I saw online you have sandwiches, but they're not on this menu" and "do you have a kid menu?" Similarly, we had to ask for plates, spoons, parmesan, etc. A westerner, so I assume to be the owner, was outdoors making pizzas. He was not welcoming, nor did he seem involved in what the service staff were doing. So I'm guessing that might be part of the problem with the whole experience. Anyway, not bad, but not at all impressive for the price point. Especially in city like Hua Hin that had so many other options.

Nice location. Beautiful garden and mountain view. Good food on a pricey side. Pity about the bossanova music that‘s too loud (the cover versions of serious topics like “I don’t like Mondays” when a teenage girl opened fire with a machin gun on her friends and teachers in the 70s just because she didn’t like Mondays, Zombie about the IRA, etc., just gives out a creepy vibe while trying to have a nice meal), live music is way too loud for a nice restaurant when family and friends are just wanting to have dinner and chat. It feels more like clubs rather than a restaurant. We understand it’s the restaurant policy but still want to recommend: restaurant music should be instrumental, light and serves as a background music, not the kind of music that makes diners want to eat quickly and leave quickly (makes me think of Chinese restaurants in the UK that aims at turnover only). Daddy Deli is one of our favs in Hua Hin but we always have to decide going to others favs just because we feel bad to have to ask staff to switch off mysic when no one’s around or turn it down a bit when there are other customers who might like brainless/braincooking/boring bossanova. Oh, smoking areas should be outside of the restaurant completely and smoking shouldn’t be allowed at dining tables as there are family with kids who like to sit outside on the balcony for beautiful mountain view.

Daddy’s Deli in Hua Hin is like a well-kept secret, hidden away from the usual tourist traps and beach bars. Walk in, and it’s clear this place has a mission: meat, done with purpose and without apology. The neon-lit dry-aging fridge is your first clue that they mean business—a shrine to the art of butchery. I went for the beef cheek, and this isn’t some timid dish. It’s been braised to perfection, practically dissolving at the touch of a fork, packed with an intensity that speaks of hours spent over low heat, of patience and respect for the ingredient. The mashed potatoes are more than just a side—they’re a canvas, soaking up the dark, rich sauce that clings to every bite. Charred carrots and earthy mushrooms add a balance, an almost rustic simplicity that lets the beef take center stage. Daddy’s Deli doesn’t waste time on flash or gimmicks. It’s about pure, honest flavor, a place that knows exactly what it’s about and delivers on it. If you’re in Hua Hin and you care about your meat, this spot is worth the detour. It’s a meal with soul, a reminder of why we fall in love with food in the first place.

Recommendation for Daddy Deli

As a loyal customer who has always appreciated the charm and quality of Daddy Deli's original location, I had high hopes for your new, larger space. Unfortunately, my recent experience left me disappointed.

During my visit, I encountered several issues:

The order was not served as requested, with items arriving at different times. The meat, served incorrectly, was cold by the time the rest of the meal arrived. There was no acknowledgment, apology, or attempt to rectify the situation from your team. The beauty of your original location was its attention to detail and the personal touch, which seems to have been lost in this transition. Expanding is an exciting milestone, but it’s important not to sacrifice quality and customer experience in the process.

I urge you to revisit the saying, “Small is beautiful.” A larger space can still deliver exceptional service, but it requires clear processes, attentive staff, and a commitment to the values that made you successful.

Thank you for considering this feedback. I hope you can make adjustments to bring back the great dining experience your loyal...
