The atmosphere is about the only thing this place has going for it. Been here a few times over the last month before making this review and the last visit really takes the cake and shows why this place deserves the worst review on the beach.
My wife ordered baked fish with mashed potatoes and I ordered filet mignon with mashed potatoes. Both came with french fries, that’s fine I guess, just know their fries are frozen since they have those even while being out of mashed potatoes.
My wife received a piece of chicken instead of fish and then when I brought it up to the server she said it was miscommunication, but at the beginning of our visit she spoke exceptional English when ordering drinks, she even repeated the order back to us.
Then the manager came to our table to ask about it, when she came she also happened to ask about my filet mignon… I asked her if it was boiled and she said it was grilled. I, as well as any other person who has ever eaten a steak can tell you that steak is not grilled. Very clearly boiled… any grill or pan in the world will leave at least a small amount of char on the meat. I told the manager I wanted the bill so we could pay and leave.
After a few minutes I go to the bar because they aren’t bringing the bill. The server shows me the new bill, the manager did the right thing and removed both dinners from the bill due to them not being as advertised or what we ordered, I respect that being a sound move on their part.
The main and real reason they receive a 1 star review, when I went up to pay my bill was 560 baht, I paid with 1000, the server handed me 400 baht. She immediately started helping someone else so I turned around and presented the problem of being short changed to the manager behind me… she went right up to the server and the server magically pulled my remaining 40 baht change out of her pocket. I don’t find this behavior acceptable in any business situation anywhere in the world.

Read moreWhile they do not have a French AAA cook or anything that would normally appeal to a high end restaurant, they do have a pitoresque charm, and not to mention a very good atmosphere. A must try for a visitor in huay yang. The food is authentic and their western dishes are generous, while their Thai dishes...
