Mozza Mia HuaHin — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

My partner and I decided to visit this little restaurant after being impressed by the menu and the friendliness of the staff while walking past earlier in the day. When we arrived, the same staff member had quite obviously been drinking and readily admitted to having started drinking in the morning! We let this slide as she seemed only to be greeting people and not actually involved in the process of cooking our food. To be honest, at the time it was a little bit of character. There were 2 other tables with diners when we arrived, one group inside and one group outside. We chose an outdoor table where we sat for a few minutes and then had to ask for a menu. We quickly chose 2 pasta dishes and waited for a few minutes before pressing the button on the table for service. Noone arrived. We waited for a further few minutes before pressing the button again. This brought out what turned out to be the only cook/chef from the kitchen to take our order. This was very obviously not his normal job and after some pointing, he took our order and quickly disappeared back to the kitchen forgetting to take our drinks order. By this time more people had turned up and were visibly getting annoyed and frustrated by the lack of service. It was at this point that we saw that the place was woefully understaffed, one cook and one waitress who seemed to be also acting as kitchen hand. We received the meals in a normal amount of time and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and flavour. Again, we waited a considerable amount of time for the bill when finally a couple more staff had arrived. This was too late for some of the more recent tables as at least two had decided to leave and find somewhere else to go. We paid the bill and we then, of course, had to wait ages for our change.

RUN !!! DON’T WALK !! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING !!! Best Italian food in Thailand. Very authentic. Everything was properly done. Flavors were great. Textures were great. Pasta was cooked. Perfectly. Calamari was amazing. The owner was on site and very friendly. Wait staff was super attentive.

The Burata was outstanding. Even the bread is decent here, which is rare in Thailand. Truffle spaghetti was phenomenal. Pesto was definitely delicious as well.

The prices are actually reasonable, considering how authentic the food is, and very premium quality.

My only critique would be the fillet of beef for 990 baht should come with both vegetables and potatoes instead of a choice. The sauce that was served with the beef was absolutely fantastic. I believe it may have been a bordelaise sauce.

A very disappointing meal. The pasta was over cooked, watery like Asian noodles. Pizza dough is terrible, it looks like a dried Indian roti with cheese on top. Their bread is just commercially bought local bread, not authentic Italian food. Maybe the owner is Italian, but the standard is very very very low.
