First Customer of July 15th 11:10AM Dish ordered: Caesar Salad, Spaghetti Carbonara Scallop and Truffle, ข้าวผัด มันเนื้อ
Lunch at Saun pueng Rajburi, Ordinary Home Restaurant, with noticeable yellow interior with a big picture of a chef uniform man on the wall. 3 Dishes were ordered, not too fast and not too slow, the dishes were served.
One of the most misunderstood origins. The Caesar salad, most of the time mistaken that this salad was a creation from Juliet Caesar himself. But this was a creation of Caesar Cardini a restaurant owner in Tijuana, Mexico in 1924 (Wikipedia Caesar Salad). I never had the original but the one served here was outstanding. The great ingredient made great dish, this Caesar salad was not shy of saying that one bit. Its was well balance btw the fresh romaine lettuce, tomato and freshly crisp bacon, top that with the aroma of parmesan and black peppers. This was one of a kind home made Caesar Salad. like I said, never had one from the original but I believe this dish would have made Cardini himself goes Wow.
The Carbonara is always about the sauces. With the basic ingredients, eggs, Hard Cheese and black peppers and I believed restaurant that called them self specialty would have their owned recipe of the Carbonara, this one happen to be a truffle carbonara. The pasta, No evident that Mr. Marco polo brought the noodle back from China on one of his trips, but what we have here is a perfectly cooked spaghetti. The secret sauce was perfectly coated the Spaghetti nothing soaked on the bottom of the dishes, topping with grilled moist and tender larges scallops. Especially with the truffle sauce, this was the great dish of the day.
ข้าวผัด มันเนื้อ (Beef Grease Fry Rice) The Secret of a good Fry Rice start with a cold Rice not a fresh cook one. Preferable refrigerated cold rice. When the heat of the Wok touch the cold rice and by the time all ingredient were well mixed and done, the rice still in a perfect shape not smashed that how the Fry Rice should be made. This was a good example of one. Mixed between Steak and Rice was done well in this dish. The rice was cooked in the steak aroma oil. Served with Steak on top of the rice with deep fry Gallic. Traditional Thai sauces (แจ่ว) was a good touch. The steak gravy (sauce), was the unique one, my opinion would be this Sauce (Gravy) were perfectly blended between Thai and Mexican spices.
Three basic dishes with the environment of a Home cook meal with the test of a skilled chef and a heart warm welcome. There couldn't be...
Read moreIn the jungle, far from people and in a tourist destination on a holiday, it would be great to find delicious food from the best chefs in Thailand. And it's true as they say, the best food has to be found in the jungle, in an area far from people. But you can find delicious food at reasonable prices. And it's not just about hanging the chef's name in front of the shop without actually meeting the chef. The chef creates the food himself and interacts with customers, whether they're regulars or new customers.Without discrimination, without being arrogant, not like in the news that regular customers must be given something special, but must be treated equally in every dish and every menu, whether new or regular customers. And it has been my intention since 7 years ago when I watched the Top Chef program that any restaurant that is generally accessible and doesn't need to be fancy or extravagant, I will go and eat to prove my ability and taste. That is, after 7 years, I finally got to this place. As intended, and without any disappointment in the variety and tastes experienced, it shows that quality and impression can be created without any discrimination of whether it is ordinary crab or...
Read moreMy friend had the great idea to take me, a vegan of 9 years, to Crazy Bee Steakhouse. I was wondering when we arrived how this was going to work out, a little skeptical I must admit. However we talked to Chef Otto, and he promised to make a good salad with homemade dressing for me. Gotta' love the Thai smile attitude! Chef Otto came through with flying colors! Incredibly great salad and the special homemade dressing, wow, flavors galore. I also got to taste my friends Spaghetti with a variety of Mushrooms and other flavorful veggies. The food was accompanied by perfectly browned and slightly crisp Garlic bread that we ordered. Thank you Chef Otto for the great meal! I can also add that judging from the steaks I saw coming out of the kitchen, this is also definitely a steak lovers paradise, but with room for vegans as well. Visit Chef Otto at Crazy Bee, Vegan, Carnivore any-vore and you will not be disappointed! In addition to the great food i want to mention that the ingredients are locally sourced by Chef...
