Tldr; fell sick, multiple staff coughing without masks. My gf who has very high immunity fell sick (takes strong illness to make her sick). Grilled river Prawn not fresh.

So I have a heavy heart writing this review because it's a very mixed feeling experience. We stopped by here on a weekday. Around 7pm. The view is nice, the atmosphere is nice, the staff has excellent service. The waitress very politely and patiently took our order and recommended dishes in Thai, we speak some Thai maybe 3/10 and was using Google translate lens to understand the menu and she was extremely helpful with recommendations and speaking slowly. They even placed a mosquito coil beneath the table. Food was fast too. The small shrimps fried with their salty buttery sauce was lovely. The crab fried rice was so yummy for 80 baht.

HOWEVER, this is where he bad things end and making me write this.

1. some waitresses KEPT coughing through the dinner from some distance (did not wear masks). Maybe they have some sickness spreading there and maybe into food. We didn't think much, but 1 day later in my hotel, we are sick and keep coughing too (slightly sore upper respiratory tract). I mean ur working in f&b, if u have a cough u wear a god damn mask. Why would you want to make ur customers sick. You might say oh I could have gotten sick previously. Well we spent the previous 2 days in a lakeside resort in khaoyai just chilling and mostly just driving around. We felt fine until 1 day after dinner.

2. some dishes were very weird taste (that was recommended). The bean like vegetable fried with the claws of the shrimp. Couldn't finish. Also, we ordered the 1kg/3pcs/1.5k thb grilled river shrimp. (We had this fish a few other times at restaurants in Ayutthaya and they were great, so we know what it's supposed to taste like) when the dish came, yes the prawns were huge and looked amazing, there was a weird smelly smell that I remember was there when I grilled a lobster that I left in the fridge overnight (not fresh taste and smell). We had this dish in other restaurants and they did not have the unfresh grilled shell smell. We brought it up to them and they very politely didn't want to cancel. They kept insisting the shrimps were fresh and same day, "knocked" (in Thai knock means kept in ice water before cooking). Well no wonder. The other restaurants probably kept them live until cooking them. So instead of cancelling, they suggested cooking another dish that we liked (the salty stir fried dish) using 1 prawn for free. I mean, they need income, so we agreed. When it came, it wasn't that fresh, Abit tough, but didn't have the bad smell, cooked full through.

But whatever with the food, some good meals some bad meals, but what I can't get over which is also why I am writing this god damn essay is because we fell sick the next day! With the same coughing urge sound as their staff the...

Worth the visit if you can be bothered to take the 1hr+ car ride from Bangkok to Ayutthaya! The food was of high quality, and the restaurant was very accommodating to our large group. We made a booking beforehand given our group size, and I would highly recommend doing so if you plan on having lunch/dinner given how busy the place was by the time we left (our booking was from 1030).

River prawns are a must order, but don't get too hung up on going for the largest sizes as we found the "smaller" ones to have almost the same amount of meat whilst getting more prawns for the price. Everything else on the menu was delicious too, and they also service...
