For years I have ridden past this spot occasionally and thought I wonder what it's like, looks like a good spot. Finally decided to stop in and try it. Very Thai setup with the Thai music live and otherwise, All Thai food, Thai beer and "prettys". It is right beside the lake. However, you don't really see much of the lake as there is a fence blocking the view of most of it. There's 1 million mosquitos buzzing around and no mosquito coils or deterrents. Table had lots of ants on it. I can deal with most of this. I'm not too fussy. What I can't deal with though is crap service and waiting over 30 minutes minutes for average: pad gaprao, som tam and rice and omelette. Dishes that grandma can make in 10 minutes. Also ordered a mango smoothie with no sugar and received some artifical sweet as hell mango shake. During the wait we asked about them "they are making it" she said in Thai. Zero concern, urgency or understanding from the staff. When we arrived the place was near empty albeit a few people. We noticed others coming after were served food before us. All the food arrived at different times. The som tam made my Thai gf sick and she has a stomach of steel. Upon leaving and paying it was like dealing with zombies. Nobody says a word, smiles or even a sorry or a thank you. There was 1 man washing dishes who smiled which was well received however every other staff member was like a zombie. Wouldn't recommend the place to anybody. My Thai gf rarely gets upset but this ruined her night and also mine. Service could be improved with basic smiles and simple words like hi, thank you, sorry etc. A really terrible experience compounded by the lack of acknowledgement of said experience by any...
