Highly Recommend if you want to try some typical Southern Thai dishes. Non-Halal. It's a local favourite. Food was full of flavours, and the portion was huge. Free fresh herbs. However, most of the dishes we picked were really spicy, even for me with high spice tolerance. The physical pain is real. My husband said I was trying to kill him 😝. So try balancing it up with something mild. They have English translated menu but do your research on the dish you want to try and ask them. Some of the waiters speak some English.
We felt it was actually quite pricey, 4 dishes cost us 760 Bhat for two people. They take only cash.
Here is everything we ordered with 2 plates of steamed white rice (40B):
Gaeng Som - Southern Thai dish. Very Fiery, Rich, packs a punch, and highly recommend if you can take high spiciness but be warned ⚠️ (200Bhat). Has coconut shoots.
River Snails in Betel Leaves - Interesting flavours, Spicy (120B)
Khua Kling - Minced Pork. Southern Thai dish. Super spicy too but loved the crunchy texture of the fresh black pepper. (150B)
Moo Hong - Phuket Pork Belly Stew. Sweet and Fatty. Delicious. (180B)
Fresh Herbs - Free of charge
Ice cream - 55B

Although we saw some other tourists, this is definitely a local spot, however they had menus in English as well. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
We ordered a variety of dishes, most of which you will not find in the tourist restaurants around Phuket island. The food was amazing but remember to tell the chef if you need to turn down on the chilis and/or the sugar. However, the real taste and experience is in having it "Thai spicy".
Can highly recommend the pork stew (super tender), the fried fish with curry paste (super spicy😋😋) , and the spicy curry with split gill mushrooms. The Melinjo leaves with egg is not spicy and a good new taste experience. Larb is always good.
We had such a good meal and will...
Read moreHere is my first time in Phuket, and after researching the best restaurants in Phuket, my friends and I decided to try this restaurant before my flight back to Bangkok. Here are some local dishes on our table, which looked delicious.
Especially the crab curry with rice vermicelli is my favourite dish. I’ve never had the taste of curry in Bangkok, but chef cooked the curry sauce perfectly with crab meat 🦀.
My second favourite dish is stir-fried Malindjo leaves with eggs; it’s a good combination of vegetables fried with eggs. This is a must-try menu as well; it’s one of the local vegetables in southern Thailand. 🥬🍳
Overall, for the dishes I tried, it was impressive with the authentic Southern food; the taste of curry that they made was flavoured. Thank you for the nice recommendation and service from the staff as well; they are genuinely kind and...
