STAY Cafe Mae Ram Phueng Beach — Restaurant in Rayong Province

We were there on July 4th, 2023, at about 11.15 o'clock. A large "Open" sign was right in front of it, on Google the cafe was advertised as "open", too. We then looked for the entrance, but everything was closed. Now it is no problem if a Café is closed, but then you should also replace the "Open" sign with a "Closed" sign and also note it accordingly on Google. At Mae Ramphueng Beach, nothing is going on and we went to this Cafe there especially because it was labeled as "Open" on Google. But particularly disturbing was the unfriendliness with which we were really chased away. An older woman who was doing something in the lot behind the Café just shouted "Closed! Closed! Closed!" and then when we got in the car, a younger woman over the fence away also said "Closed!" and gestured for us to leave. Really...

Stayed in Rayong for a few months and came here most mornings for coffee and sometimes breakfast, too.

Pros:

-The cats. Favorite part about the cafe. They have cats that are roaming inside in the cafe on most days. So it’s quite sweet to spend time with them while chilling with your coffee.

-Vegan options: they have oat milk for coffee and their avocado toast can be made vegan — tell them avocado toast, no egg, no butter on toast and olive oil instead.

-Coffee and beach. Coffee is quite good and it’s right across from the beach so it has beautiful views and makes for a great walk afterwards.

-Staff is also very friendly and attentive.

Cons:

-Bathroom — it’s outside and no toilet paper. Just the way it is at some places though, so...

I stayed for a couple of nights at one of the bungalows that the same young couple that runs the Stay café owns. The bungalow is spacious, the bed is nice and hard, which I love, and it's located next to the bar and the beach. There are plenty of other bars/restaurants/7-11 at walking distance. Price for the bungalow was good. Do keep in mind: the bungalows are very basic, so if you are looking for some luxury, then this isn't for you. But the new owners are planning to upgrade them in the near future.

The bar is nice and the young couple running it are super friendly. If you want a continental breakfast, then this is a good spot. The owners try to make every drink and meal perfect, and it's always worth...
