Come here for the crabs because Mark Wiens liked it? Here's what to expect. Look at the menu and it says 150 baht. Being a gullible tourist you're ok with anything as long as they seem honest. So you ask to confirm. The owner says enthusiastically in rather good English yes 150. You continue to enjoy the meal thinking that well the taste is alright, even acceptable. After a 2-hour scooter ride from Bangkok it's got to be worth it right? Then you ask for the bill! Now you're outraged. They now tell you it's actually 150 baht/100g. That little wriggly Thai character you didn't pay attention to and they didn't tell you about really means "'per 100 grams". If you like surprises, do come here indeed. If you like taste, value and honesty, stick with that Chinatown one where they busy themselves in T-shirt uniforms. This restaurant is unforgettable for all the...

The food is very good but BE WARNED: only order things off the menu with clear writing. The waitress upsold us on crab claiming it was only 500thb for 1kg. We didn’t believe it, so many people at our table confirmed with her again. We confirmed with her multiple times, to the point that she was laughing that we didn’t believe her. When the bill came, we were charged 1500thb for 1kg of crab. She claimed she said 1500 the entire time. This is a common scam in Thailand - ALWAYS ask for the bill first before eating at big tourist trap...

My all time favorite seafood! You can stop at this branch while you are driving to the south. Daeng seafood restaurant always serves quality, fresh and delicious seafood. Shrimp fried rice is full of shrimp (more like fried shrimp with rice). Mae-Klong fish (pla tu) in Chinese sweet black sauce is a must. The Tom yum seafood is full of spicy and sour. Also the crab meat dish is so good - sweet and fresh. The clam in basil sauce is also famous. The size of the dish is quiet large which can serve to 3-5...

This was our pit stop on our way to Hua Hin. Food in our opinion was pretty good although we would prefer a much savory taste which we experienced in Bangkok. However we recognize the different styles of Thai cooking. We arrived past 2 pm in the afternoon and was the only table with the last one leaving. Therefore our food came very quickly. We were a little disappointed as there was no crabs available that day as we went because of good reviews. Will have to visit another time...

A great local seafood restaurant with fresh seafood, ressonable price, and friendly staff. There is plenty of parking space in front of the restaurant and along the street. I would like to recommend three additional dishes that are not seafood. Stir-fried morning glory, Thai fried rice with crab, and fried fish cake! There is no air conditioning in the restaurant so the choice of table near a fan is highly recommended!
