I travel to Amphawa very often, like almost every month to spend a weekend there. And there are a number of shops in Amphawa which I will most definitely go on most of my visits. But one of my absolutely favorite of all time in Amphawa is actually gong meng chan noodles. It is my absolute MUST visit every single time when I travel to Amphawa. No excuses.
There are always people queuing on my every visit but thankfully the waiting time wasn't that long most times.
Its a traditional and unique shop that keep the noodles in a drawer.
On my every visit, I will only order dry noodles with bbq pork and dumplings, along with a hot bowl of dumpling soup. All of them upsize of course!
The noodles were cooked al dente with the right balance of texture, chewy, fragrant and extremely perfectly cooked in my opinion. The bbq pork used in the noodles were very succulent, and perfectly moist unlike some other shops which I have been too were too dry. I can never get enough of their pork.
Pork dumplings was another highlight. Being in a bowl of really delicious hot broth, the dumplings were able to trap the sweet umami from the soup into the dumplings and ended up so flavorful that one bowl is almost never enough! Even with the hot broth, the dumplings doesn't split apart.
No matter the weather, be it hot or wet weather, nothing can deter me from visiting on my every...
Read moreAuthentic Thai Style Wonton noodles (60 baht) 🍜 the noodles are really chewy and minimal sauces really brings out the flavour of the handmade noodles. Alkaline smell is not very strong. Char siew is quite flavourful and on the lean side. Wonton is packed with fragrant meat as well. Adding the condiments of chilli powder, vinegar chilli and fish sauce really packs a punch! Lovely local place for a meal for an affordable price. I rate: 4/5 🌟
Iced Chai dam yan (15 baht) drink was really good and handmade as well! Super refreshing on a hot day 😍 I...

We were the only farang in the shop just 50 meters from the market with hundreds of tourists, they don't know what they missed! Will be...
