Barco cafe' & eatery — Restaurant in Si Sa Ket Province

Myself and 5 of my friends are currently sitting outside waiting for our meals after about 50 minutes and we still haven’t recieved half of the food.

We were given the wrong order for a simple pork and som tam dish. My pork chop was ice cold, clearly has been sitting waiting for a good while.

The rice, which was requested to be a little spicy is unbelievably spicy (note we live in Thailand, we can handle spice)

The restaurant inside is very quiet but waiting almost an hour for our dishes when there are, wait I’ll count...

We came here to celebrate our friends farewell and with this current level of service, she will be missing her flight tomorrow.

Very good food when it is at a desirable temperature, but the service and waiting times make this a place we shall not be returning to again soon.

Even as I finish this review, nothing more has arrived at our table. We have all eaten and the waiters have taken the plates away while we are still waiting for our friends...

Mix of coffee bar, restaurant and bar. Good selection of Thai and Western food. The salmon salad I had (185 baht) was a fusion of both styles and would not have suited some foreign palates (some kind of fragrant vinegar dressing and rather a lot of thankfully mild raw onion), but I liked it.

Though more expensive than I might normally go for by way of a light lunch, the quantity of salmon was impressive. Needed something crisp to go with it like crusty bread.

Iced espresso was up to a decent standard and the strawberry cheesecake was ok, but the cakes & desertswere standard supply for urban coffee bars. Look alsewhere if you want home baking.

A wet Monday lunchtime was not a good timing to assess ambience and the staff were bored rather than friendly. I reckon this would be a good place to be when buzzing in the evening.

Mixed fruit plate for 1500 baht ?

Today we went for dinner here ... just spaghetti for me, two beers and a mixed fruit plate.

After dinner we were presented with a bill that included a charge of baht 1500 (yes ! Fifteen hundred) for a mixed fruit platter ... this actually was a plate of watermelon wedges only ...

After complaining, this item was reduced to 85 baht ,...

We are still not sure if this was an attempt to defraud us or not ... at any rate, 1500 baht for a few wedges of watermelon seems ridiculous...

Also, the spaghetti portion was tiny ... as in less than an adult appetizer size ...

Anyway, we left most unimpressed with this impostor of Italian food ... what a shame ! Sisaket really needs quality food to lift up the food scene ... barco isn’t it...
