Tonmoung Dimsum Restaurant — Restaurant in Songkhla Province

I would give straight away 5 stars for the nostalgic feel when I step into this place. A feel that brought me back to my childhood days. So many antiquity in the shop, I was almost blown away by Agnes Chan's LP on the wall. Sitting in the restaurant where "风从那里来", "水长流", "左三年右三年" and other Chinese oldies but goodies playing in the background, it is as if I have traveled back in time.

This is the second time I walk into this place alone. I want to try the food again without other people around. I ordered a few item that was different from yesterday but, I cannot resist the Wonton Noodles and pig's trotter so one round for me.

When the food came, the noodles and trotter live up to their reputation. It was great. Especially for the noodles with black sauce, it's called Ama (grandma) Noodles but clearly it's typical Malaysian Wonton Noodles. One would able find this dish in most Malaysia coffee shop. It's a meal for the common folk. A simple meal that reminds me of my childhood days and my time in Penang.

The noodles was well cooked and the sauce is not overwhelming. Even though dumplings are a little miniature, but it taste good. The BBQ pork is dry, but forgivable as this is a common folk food. I would come back for more.

As for the Dim Sum, it is not too bad. It's not the best however, for the price it is acceptable. I cannot believe the amount of Dim Sum in this place, almost 50 items plus, stir fried Noodles and vegetables and also 肉骨茶. (Bah Kut Teh) Therefore, I believe anyone can find something for themselves as early as 6 am in Hat Yai.

A little disappointing with the fish maw soup but as the saying goes, "once bitten twice shy" so I wouldn't recommend this dish at all. However, this is still a great place for breakfast. With a pot of great 普洱， the experience...

I visited this restaurant around 11 AM—quite late for breakfast, but they were still open until 2 PM. In my opinion, if you're still operating, you should provide professional service to customers. I didn’t come here expecting free food; I came to enjoy a meal and good service.

Upon arrival, we checked the food options at the counter, but the selection was very limited. I understand they might want to control the food temperature, but instead of offering any suggestions, a lady (who I assume is the owner or manager) just opened another refrigerator without saying anything.

After we sat down, I noticed they had a self-service station for tea and vegetables. However, when I went to get some, there were no vegetables available. The same lady saw me standing there but said nothing. I had to ask someone from the kitchen to refill it.

As for the food, it was just okay—nothing special. We ordered hot coffee and iced Ovaltine, both of which were plain and unimpressive. On top of that, the prices were quite high—30 baht for a small portion of a drink and dim sum ranging from 25 to 90 baht. It felt like pricing for tourists rather than locals.

Overall, the food was average, the service was poor, and the prices were not worth it. Even as a local, I wouldn’t return. Definitely not a place...

🌞 ถึงร้านเกือบจะเที่ยง แต่ในข้อมูลแจ้งปิด14:00 เราเลยเห็นมีติ่มซำ ถาดใหญ่ เล็ก วางบนบาร์นิดหน่อย เราเลือกมาแค่ 3- 4ถาด และเพิ่มซุปบักกุ๊ดเต๋+ข้าว อาหารถือว่าออกช้า ทั้งที่มีเราเป็นลูกค้าแค่คนเดียวในตอนนั้น มีอาหารหมวดจีน และหมวดไทย ให้เลือกด้วย

🍚คะแนนอาหาร 👌ซุปดี หม้อร้อนชุดเล็ก ให้หมูมาชิ้นใหญ่ๆ มีผักและเห็ดนิดหน่อย ซุปรสขมปลาย หอมยาจีน ทานกับข้าวแล้วลดขมลงนิดนึง 👌ติ่มซำ ที่นึ่งมาแล้ว รสชาติลงตัวกับน้ำซุปที่ราด อร่อยลงตัว แทบจะไม่ต้องจิ้มซอสเลย เราไม่ทานปู ติ่มซำทะเล เลยเลือกเป็นเกี๊ยวห่อกุ้ง ชิ้นโตมาก เพราะกุ้งเป็นไซส์กลาง กัดแล้วรู้เลยว่าทำสดใหม่ หวานกรอบเด้งทั้งกุ้งทั้งหมู อร่อย คุ้มค่า!! 👌ชานมเย็น หอมหวานมันกำลังดี ตัดความเลี่ยนอาหารได้ดี

🍚คะแนนบรรยากาศ อากาศอบอ้าวในตอนเที่ยง แต่ร้านเปิดโล่ง2 ด้าน ลมโกรกดีพอสมควร ก็พอใช้ได้ ในสวนที่ลงรูปสวยๆ เราเดินไปดูแล้วรกมาก เหมือนจะมีงู มากกว่าที่จะเอาไว้นั่งทานข้าว 😅

🍚บริการ👎...อาจจะเพราะธรรมเนียมที่นี่ต้องมีทิปรึเปล่า เราไม่แน่ใจ แต่เราเห็นแล้วรู้สึก ทำงานขอไปที ไม่ได้ใส่ใจอะไรมาก (แต่หวังทิป?!) เราไม่ให้อยู่แล้วกับร้านอาหารธรรมดา ทั่วไป ที่พนักงานไม่ได้เทคแคร์ เป็นพิเศษ ....อาจเพราะตรงนี้มั้ง ถึงได้มีเสียง พนักงานหญิงที่พูดไทยไม่ชัดคนนึง ที่รับออเดอร์จากเรา...แล้วลืมเสิร์ฟ ข้าวและชาเย็น!! บ่นเสียงดังว่า "สวยนะแต่จน" 😂😂 ขอบคุณที่ชมว่าสวยนะคะ

ค่าเสียหายทั้งสิ้น 38x.-- จ่ายWallet เต็มจำนวน ถือว่าราคาสูงค่ะ แต่ไม่ได้แพงมาก...
